Fast card compared to what? I mentioned the R9 295X2 which is of an order of magnitude faster and that they are in different leagues, so.....

But you obviously don't care about the true high-end card and because of your low standard you only see that.
Thanks for reminding me what I do and don't care about. For example I care about my beloved planet, and I don't want crappy card in 2015 what are bruteforcing performance with insane amount of power, because that's what that dualchip behemot is doing. And if you look at the performance charts, you can see that both cards are at the very bottom right in the same top league, and you may also see the midrange and the low-end cards in those charts as well. The 980 takes less than half the power and still does quite well against the 295x2 (for example, the gigabyte g1 is one of the cheapest here, 475 euros and the difference is 11% in 1080p, 29% in 1440p and it's even faster in 900p), and it only gets beaten in 4K which is clearly never was the target resolution of the card, but the industry is not really ready for that resolution for hardcore gamers anyways.
I'm an avid gamer with high standards, I don't play games with added SLI latency, jitters or with console-like 50-60fps in stupid high resolutions, I want a silent, low power single chip cards and super-smooth 90-120fps at least, and in my "low" standards, I just lower some hair-splitting details and the 980 delivers. I know, I'm clueless, but I guess I just have to go with that.
