Explanations for deleted posts?

the reason this is turning into an argument, is because you're being too defensive mailman. Just because someone disagrees isnt a reason to pick apart their reasoning - you CAN just let them be, and allow w1zzard to read this thread when he gets around to checking this subforum (which he does).

When he reads the thread, he'll see where majority opinion lies and make a decision himself - 'debating' or arguing every little point is not going to sway his opinion either way.

Even the thread title "hey mods" isnt very tactful - its a bad title. "Question about deleted posts", "suggestion about deleted posts" "why arent people notified when posts are deleted?"
Things like this may be related to why some of your posts go away. The message can be the same, but different methods of wording lead to different connotations and implications, thus turning a question into a challenge, and a rebuttal into an argument.

I'm talking about statements and or satire that has to do with the topic thats misunderstood and deleted.

Don't worry, we're fairly good at understanding if a post bears relevance to the topic and at the same time isn't inciting an argument, and whether it should stay there or not.

well i was talking to dan earlier and he sent me this ,Google indexes all ancient threads, more hits on Google = more traffic. so whether you can tickle the net into showing you old threads is anybodys guess, allthough if they aren't ancient and have been deleted i guess you won't find them because they won't have been indexed and won't be there

Wizz taking this suggestion and implementing is about -100% after reading some of the responses. I wasn't trying to be defensive. Just trying to make myself clear.

I think everything seems fine and mods can judge pretty well... and it is kinda hard not to know why your post was deleted...

BUT, I guess for some people, they WANT something like the infractions message... like the 2-3 words description.... which would also mean more PMs to the mods not less!

idk for me it seems obvious that the best way to go is how it is now...

there wont be a feature that shows your deleted stuff. if you get an infraction/warning a mod can include a more elaborate message what you did wrong.

if you could see who deleted and why we would have more drama threads about how people feel they get singled out by mods, or how the deletion was unjustified etc.

if it was deleted it was deleted for a reason.

if you need to get the post text back because it contains the only copy of your secret formula to turn toilet papers into dollars, contact a supermod/admin

Oh I understand. Again as I said in my first post this is the only thing that has ever bothered me about this place. Mods are fair and trolls are few. What more could you ask for.

When both are legally possible, im sure w1zzard will implement it.

w1zz: no one in their right mind would argue with you, about what you need your PC to do. That said, you are still the only person i know of, that is still using IE6

works fine for me. loads fast. i got a proxy in front of it that rewrites the page content, removes ads, enables right click, enables copy and paste, allows frame sizing, blocks popups, blocks flash, freezes gif animation and everything else i could imagine i need

well people just need to behave read the rules and that's it
and not try to incite world war 3 it just makes the site look tatty and unprofessional

maybe the rules need changing to be stricter it's ok at the mo though .read the sig that says it all ,although sig does need tidying up as it's a mess
