^^^^^^:^^^^^^^
When someones bord

Holy Christ....

Damn I was too distracted by the borders on the monitors... >_>

What i find really neat about this, are the video cards you are using to do this.

LOL me too!

The rug is a bit much though .

Some ones E-peen just went off .

Awsome,

How are you using the none-active displayport adaptors though? As far as I knew you had to use actives.

Hmmm... How does that work then... DisplayPort is nativly Digital... is there also an analogue carrier like with DVI?

dp @ vga - can be passive
dp @ dv - have to be active

you can find topics on some forums about these vga adapters easy ;)
vga adapter is "single link" can operate max 1920x1200

Hey duniek, thanks very much for showing this. but I have a very important question...

How is performance?

It looks like sub-30 FPS at points, and monitor sync seems a bit off...is this sofTH issue?

If you can afford 9 monitors, you could afford 3 5870's to actually make the game look good. from the video, it didn't look its best.

Hmm, I suppose that the softTH might take care of current CrossfireX issues...I already have 3 cards, but find 2 is not enough for 5760x1080, at least, not with the detail levels and AA that I'd prefer, which I can do with 2560x1600, 3-card eyefintiy is broken, even though I think that'd be ideal...

At this point, I'm getting kinda sick of dicking around trying to get things working right. I wish AMD jsut had a lsiting that says:

"Here, buy these monitors, these cables, the se cards, and you need this mch cpu power, for 60+ FPS with 4xAA."

But almost no review sites even cover eyefinity, and now, many month later, I don't wonder why.

I tweaked system a little

now i have 26-29fps @ 9 monitors
HIGH detail
no AA

with 2x AA I have 22-24

but can you have each gpu on one monitor, as use softTH to span the game across them?

You put my system to the shame :)

That was Ati 5870 with HP 2475 (with Display Port integrated) and two older CRT until i save money for 3x30" :) or to be more realistic, 2x24" more....

Interesting, I didn't think it was possible to play a single game with videocards that aren't in SLI or CF.

:laugh:my eyes are bleeding

As he said though, it's not using the other cards, except for vga output. It's like just half what hydra should offer..but definately a step in the right direction.

Both race game and GTA IV works great wth just signle 5870.
Race is perfect and GTA IV is around 40 fps, or maxes out...
Tried Test Drive unlimited (Hawai version) and it's wokrs great too...

Yeah, I have 2x5870 running 5760x1080. Hoping that a driver will allow me to add a third card to the rendering pipe...4xAA makes for a huge performance hit in most apps...but BF:BC2 works great under 1 gpu, with no AA, and about the smae performance using 2 gpus and 4xAA. Third gpu would make it near perfect, IMHO.

I hope, Duniek, someone sees that you ahve the monitors, and gets you some cards and the right board so you can compare Eyefinity, Eyefinity + Hydra, Eyefinity + Hydra + SoftTH...

Would be nice to see how nV performs as well...

I greatly disagee with you on GTA4 though. I mean, sure, with lowered settings, it works fine, but that's not good enough for me. I want max settings, and even 2 gpus isn't quite enough...mind you GTA has always been a low-FPS type of game.
