EYEFINITY 9 - duniek's rig

I see a lot of hate in here...I don't however see anyone with a setup like this.....so, either shut up and enjoy the huge tech-pr0n on show here or go play WoW and be emo.

@ Duniek: Nice setup man....shame monitors aren't to the stage where the bezels are smaller...maybe soon we will see better monitors for this kind of setup and it'd look really sweet then.

Either way, very nice setup and thanks for sharing. :toast:

Thats one hell of an eyefinity setup. Damn! :D

I played with some settings and second motherboard and reason of lag/delays on screens (especially 3 left ones is 3x3 setup) is in pci-e x4 bandwidth I guess,

I think on 3 gpus @ 3x16 pci-e or 16/8/8 all will be ok

.............

I greatly disagee with you on GTA4 though. I mean, sure, with lowered settings, it works fine, but that's not good enough for me. I want max settings, and even 2 gpus isn't quite enough...mind you GTA has always been a low-FPS type of game.

I maxed out everything what GTA IV allows me to do, without any outside tweeks and to be honest, simply wasn't able to see some major difference between 1920 x 1200 and 3x1920x1200 :) in fps....
GTA IV is simply not optimised enough...
Actually, when you went to the docks, you can see great fluidity in both single and eyefinity, but as soon as you move your view to the land, fps falls!

hd5870 sold

5870 2gb e6 on the way, also I bought one more 226BW cheap 90$ and 223BW mega cheap - 30$

so 5x2 setup maybe next month can be ready

Can you say overkill, yes, yes I can.

Very interesting setup. Performance obviously takes a big hit, but kudos on actually figuring out SofTH and how to setup everything up.

Its almost like real life!

GTA IV has always been cpu limited. I doubled my frame rates by going from my Q9400 at 3.2Ghz to my i7 920 at stock clocks. It was a night and day difference and I confirmed that with fraps. No tricks or tweaks either.

Q9400 was on average between 25 and 30 fps
i7 920 was always over 45 fps, consistently
