F.E.A.R. on Vista problem

I'm installing F.E.A.R. Combat (the online game, not reg game), and get this half way through the install:

Anyone gotten this to work on Vista?

Weird, I had no issues with Fear at all on Vista...

I've never seen a Catastrophic Failure Error before...lol...sounds REALLY bad. Wonder what the issue is.

If you don,t use a down load manager you should get one, There are many free ones out there. I would try a differant site to down load from. GamesWorthPlaying is a good one.

I downloaded it from Gamespot, using their download manager. I did read about another user getting the same error at that website, perhaps I'll try downloading it again.

So what happens when it makes you install DX9? Does that overwrite the DX10 Vista comes with, or can multiple versions exist simultaneously?

hey man can you edit your resolution? the only config I have is an config.exe in my directory.. and that wont let me edit my resolution.. tell me if you get widescreen working I cant stand having bars on the sides of my monitor

yeah, it automatically does widescreen for me. i dont' have to edit a cfg file or anything, the game just comes up that way. do you have the latest update for it?
