I have a few machines folding now and I decided to throw my PS3 into the works. I am curious, however, about the stats reported by the PS3. For example the PS3 is running now and reporting performance of about 155 NS/day. On my PC's I am folding on the video cards (8800GT and 9600GT) and FahMon is reporting something like 4700 to 5200 PPD. I sometimes run the regular console version (non SMP) on my CPU's (E8400, E8200, E1200) and they chug along at about 180 to 250 PPD.

Why does the PS3 report in different performance units (NS/day)? What's an "NS" and how does it relate to PPD (Points Per Day)?

The PS3 generates a lot of heat and I have an "in wall" installation for all my AV stuff so I want to know if it's worth cooking it in there for extended periods if the folding performance is not worth it.
