Ubisoft's Far Cry series has seen a lot of installments that were remembered as very good and enjoyable experiences. Today, Ubisoft decided to surprise new gamers and invite them over to the Far Cry series by offering PC gamers the ability to purchase Far Cry 3 free of charge. On Ubisoft's Connect PC platform, gamers can obtain their digital copy of Far Cry 3, and experience the open-world first-person shooter that the game represents. The offer, to obtain the game's digital copy, is already available and you should head over to Ubisoft's Connect platform here. It will expire on September 11th, just two days from now.

This is great game. I love the opening song in the game it really pairs well with the opening scenes:

Eh personally I thought it was at best alright, passable, nothing new happening, there were SOME interesting landmarks and storylines (the shrooms) but generally the story is rather run of the mill and this was one of the first games that semented for me the new style of game development of ubisoft: you are in this area, do X Y and Z, now you unlocked the next area, do X Y and Z, now you unlocked the next area do X Y and Z...etc etc etc

Ubisoft is 'improving' Uplay again... sigh. Their downtimes are ridiculous. Bethesda practices.

Yep. But the execution in FC3 was quite alright IMHO. At least, until they patched over how Outposts work about three times. There was no end game beyond the story, and really, there still isn't, but you can at least redo outposts :D

Already own the game, I think I got it free some time ago.

Thanks ubi , I'm good.

FC3 has ended up as one of my all time favourite games and even today it still looks dazzlingly great.

Working now (at least for me).

HAVE FUN!
The game has been successfully added to your Ubisoft Connect PC library.

Yep, game is meh at best. However, for a free game you can't go wrong. I had paid for it long ago so i felt I could have purchased other games that were better.

Good game for free if you haven't played it. The tribal crap annoyed me a bit though. They stuck to the same style of unlocking areas with towers in FC4 too, at least they dropped it in 5.

Definitely the last good game in the Far Cry series, and IMO, probably the last good game published by Ubisoft. FC3 is not exceptional by any means but it is good and worth picking up, especially for free.

A great game and it even had a 4-player co-op with separate to the single-player campaign missions.

This was probably the last game I played with my GTX 570s in SLI - had to run the game around medium settings on 5760x1080. Got my 980Ti before I finished the game and that card ate anything the game threw at it at that resolution....man, that was 6 years ago when I last played this game.

It was a pretty enjoyable game, much more so than the second one. Even if you're not a big FarCry fan, but enjoy shooters, it's worth grabbing while it's free.
