Acer Predator laptop with an Intel GPU and a GTX 1660 Ti GPU.

When GPU-Z is launched at startup, it always picks the Intel GPU to track via sensors. I do not care about the Intel GPU. I only want to see metrics from the GTX GPU.

The app should have a way to remember the last selected GPU. Or choose a default from a list of GPUs and show that preferentially.

I think this is already possible, via command line switches.
Exact switch to use escapes me, sorry.

Maybe someone else will remind us. :)

It should remember the last selected card. Or you can start it with -card 1 (starts at zero)

For the record, it works fine for me - without any command line switches.
(Much older, non-laptop i.e. desktop PC - main GPU is Intel Haswell built-in, 2nd one is AMD Radeon R9 390 discrete GPU.)

Whatever GPU I choose is kept if I quit GPU-Z then run it again. :)

(My Windows OS is Windows 10 Enterprise ver. 22H2.)

@Florin Andrei -- you might want to fill in your full laptop specs in your forum profile. :)

Yeah, I tend to use the latest version.

I did check it now, after a reboot, and it looks like it kept the latest GPU selection. But a few days ago it was switched to the other GPU. That is not something I've done voluntarily.

Perhaps the setting is not persisted after an upgrade?

If you uninstall then install the new version, all settings are cleared.

Keep an eye on it and let me know if the startup selection resets again

@W1zzard Still running v2.53.0, no update there. The app was set to track the GTX GPU since a few days ago when I started this thread.

Last night I got a Windows 10 update that required "update and shutdown", which I've accepted. When I turned the system on today and logged into my account, I got one of those prompts that invite you to upgrade to Windows 11, which I've declined; after declining, all the apps (Dropbox, Zoom, GPU-Z, etc) started the usual way in the taskbar. Nothing else happened since yesterday except for the win10 patches being applied. So far so good.

But GPU-Z had changed again, it was tracking the Intel GPU instead.

All the other apps kept their default settings. Only GPU-Z had a change of mind.

The only thing that was different today from a normal system startup, was that there was a big system update the day before, one of those that when applied, you need to explicitly log into your account for things to start as usual (as opposed to apps starting before you type in your password, as they normally do when you're the sole user on that Win10 system).
