Feedback for new TPU design

Widescreen is the future folks, get used to it, 4:3 will be dead soon enough...

Well maybe not in the workplace.. lol

hum
can you make 2 sites? :p

yep something like that .. buttons to switch 1024 width, 1280 width and fluid width

>.> i think the new design makes this look like a site that screams "d0wnl04D 0ur V1ruhsez!" which is to say, while you can tell it is done well, at a glance it looks like an unprofessional spammer-site.

I like the new design still, something still seems to be missing though. But good work so far! Now to implement that TPU Games! in there...maybe that's what's missing hehe! :D

Don't like the new red logo with the power button much at all - definitely needs some work to make it look good.

But the variable width is very nice :toast:

How about making the Power green, and the UP red? Or would it look like Christmas lights? And why not colors are nice... lol

Or the word power in red except for the button which would be green?

ok no more silly suggestions...:p

I think the new logo is WAY better than the "interim" logo. But not sure it's better than the old original. I like the concept of "green" as suggested but make sure you stick to only 2 colors total, or you will look like a christmas tree or cheap discount store.

Is the POWER button any more sophisticated than the Windows START button? I think a nitrox cylinder would be more representative of the people that hang out here.

In general, I'm OK with the new log, but somehow it's a bit "corporate" and a bit "stiff". Not an enthusiasts logo.

Wow that is a bad fit in the website for the new logo.

I like the new logo- it's awesome. We don't want to look like cheap n00bs who dabble hopelessly in overclocking because we heard about it on the internet. We don't want to look like we think Pentium 4's are the best thing since sliced bread because Dell used to use them. No, we want to look like damn experts who know what they're doing and are willing to share knowledge with people who ask. I like the new design if perhaps it is a bit wide. I think it makes the whole site more professional and more accessible.

may i suggest a blue power button? like kinda a neaon color or maybe a maybe a diff power button lay out thats a neon blue? what i mean is their are diff symbols on power buttons than the line through the half cresent and it looks cooler. i agree w/ lemonaid soda its a wicked good start but it looks like were a rep for ibm.

Ok, so basically, when I look at my screen:

1280 x 1024...

I know what to do! We need an animated gif logo to piss of the n00bs with 56k :D

W1zzard Rocks...TPU is the greatest site EVER!!!

PVT.....TPU is a living document - and W1zzard is making sure that all of us who enjoy it have a creative impact on its future. I thank you for your review of the site, but you have to recognize W1zzard's value here, being so technically advanced to accomodate everyone's idiosyncrasies is no small achievement. All of this can be summed up in one statement:

W1zzard ROCKS!:toast:

Regards,
jtleon

I hope you all know I mean not to be too over critical, but W1z asked... and I told him what I don't like.

i'm working on many of these things right now

suggest something for the right panel where the whitespace is.

make me new buttons for under the reviews list that look better and that people actually see

for the "WTF" do you know how to make an element 100%-53px wide with css ?

do you know how to make an element 100%-53px wide with css ?

No, but I do know that there is a way... and you can do it w1z!

Why not make the review bar simpler? Just show the 8 most recent, and then a link to a page that sorts all the reviews...

8 most recent have a fixed width - but a lot of people wanted fluid width .. what now?

fluid width. That way the site will work on PDAs as well as 30" cinema displays

waaaa! I give you credit for trying.

I think the power button logo has the bit button part drawing too much attention too it, making it look kinda akward.

And most power buttons are green when on :s

Yellow is the usual dell OMGLOL@U color.

Red reminds me of the xbox 360 xD

Perhaps invert the power button? It looks like its a tumor right now with a big bubble.

I really like the power button being in the logo though :D

i think its nice logo has room for improvements but the widescreen feature is a god send

I think it looks really good, nice, sharp, and professional.

Good work.
