Hi,
During the summer i was thinking of going the RYZEN way but i decided to wait for coffelake. Cofeelake seems to be a great platform and i will not wait for cannonlake(late 2018) or zen-2 refresh. The computer will be used for 2 reasons. 1 GAMING at 4K and 2nd for bragging rights ( I like the bling of RGB). I am not asking you to say whether i should upgrade or not, i am asking you advice about specific components and specific issues.. thank you.
CASE
Silverstone Primera PM01B-RGB SST-PM01B-RGB
Reasons? asus aura compatible, good airflow, nice exterior, LED strip included. My second choice was inwin 805T infinity but i read bad reviews and it was not spacious enough
MOBO
Asus Socket 1151 ROG MAXIMUS X APEX 5GLan GLan Audio Raid
my current PC has ASUS MAXIMUS VI hero and it never disappointed. Gigabyte i tried once and it was the worst experience. MSI i was happy with but didn't like the included software. I want to upgrade from he HERO model to APEX mostly for bragging rights. my other choice would have been Maximus X hero
RAM
G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB DDR4 Non ECC CL15 3200MHz (F4-3200C15D-32GTZR) (Kit 2 x 16384)
best RGB ram. Not the cheapest one. the only question is whether i should get 16 GB and not 32GB! my other choice would have been corsair vengeance RGB. ALso i read that 3200 Mhz is the sweetspot. Though i wouldn't have any problem reducing the cost. 3000mHz?
LCS
Cpu Cooler NZXT Kraken X62 RL-KRX62-01 for Intel and AMD Socket 1150 / 1151 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011-3 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / AM3+ / FM1 / FM2
though i do not need crazy liquid cooling i prefer it too air. Corsair is just too noisy and kraken is the best there is according to reviews (def not the cheapest). I would like to get an asus aura certified one but the ones available do not come with software to control flow through windows (something corsair and kraken offer)
CPU
Intel Core i5 8600K 3.6 GHz Six Core Socket 1151 95W Box (BX80684I58600K)
i have read the reviews. 8600k for gaming is great, it offers great performance, oces very well but has NO HT! Is it worth for future proofing the PC to get HT? what do you think guys? i will be gaming mostly
PSU
Thermaltake Power Supply 850W ATX 24 pin Smart Pro PS-SPR-0850FPCBEU-R Active-PFC Retail
it is RGB, it is 850w. no need for something else 80 PLUS gold
SSD
Samsung 500GB 960 Evo MZ-V6E500BW Solid State Drive M.2 PCI-E SSD M.2
the best in its price category, not the cheapest but very solid proposal. i looked at itnel which was 10% cheaper but it is much slower
So guys what do you think? feel free to make any comments! good or bad!!!!
