Square Enix has finally brought Final Fantasy XV to the PC, with vastly improved graphics, a large range of graphics options, and an optional 4K texture pack. We test the game on 15 graphics cards, take a look at VRAM usage, both with and without the texture pack, and investigate how well the game makes use of multiple CPU cores.

You guys remember when FF7 came out for PC? I had a 180Mhz Pentium Pro. My video card wasn't supported at the time, such anger I felt. I had a rivaTNT. Had to play at 320x240. :(

I like these analyses though.

Time's Up! But I for one still like my female mechanics with her tits hanging out.

Can't wait for something like GTX 2080 Ti to play this game at 4K and highest Settings with 60FPS+, but wait I don't have that much money, so...
My GTX 970 is getting old and I really need a faster card, hopefully GTX 1160/2060 would be my next GPU next year.

Look at all these new games on PC that I can't play because my GPU crapped out and I can't afford to buy a decent one thanks to cryptomining.

Is the game still rendering ofscreen stuff from FF16 and 17

Only at the low low price of $3,000 from some scalper on eBay. Good luck wrestling with the miners for any graphics card.

Btw have you seen the ingame performance metrics? They show different graphs really, and also... after few minutes... this thing mada a record for me with overall ram consumtion over 17GB.

Insane ... even more so if it didn't crash which would mean no leaks and that's all texture streaming cache, courtesy of unreal

Unfortunately the game has no boob physics. They are completely static, even when she moves or jumps. Let me check if NVIDIA wants to add realistic boob simulation to Gameworks :D

If it added real boob physics simulation the game would get up and walk away (uninstall itself) from most users, probably less so for the female buyers

They should consult pioneers in this tech Tecmo, their experience in this field of area with Dead or Alive series should be splendid. I imagine all the research business trips to perfection the code...

Yeah, it runs smooth actually... no stutter whatsoever. I was really surprised too. Nobody in reviews ever mentions it too. Previous game hitting over 12GB after many hours was GTA5, also Star Citizen Alpha it eats up around 15GB now...

I saw quite some stutter when running off HDD or with 2c/4t and weaker CPU.

The in build FPS tool shows disk reading speeds too. People say that running SSD on PS4 helps not only with dog slow loading times, but stuttering in some places too. The engine acts very interesting, the disk reading activity sometimes peaks around 200MB/s.

Also with recent AAA game titles it is a norm that even i3 6100 can chop around 15FPS + stutter on average using cards past GTX1060 at FHD, correct me if I am wrong with this statement.

It reminds me of playing Witcher 2, the second part in the forest, I've ran it on SSD first time and noticed one missing thing... loading screen while going further to certain places(remember the big tree where you performed the ritual with the witch). In certain scenarios these places triggered a slight stutter, engine specifics(appetite). It it the first time engine on PC, ain't it?

My complaint for this game is the vaseline filter... glad the filtering can be tuned down at least a bit. Running 200% rendering resolutions fixes it too... but there's nothing in the wild that can handle it now, it kinda gets on my nerves.

I would have no problem sticking with greenteam if they added dedicated real boob PhysX. Could bring the life back to PhysX cards and sell even more.

Meanwhile you can patch up your REAL skills, for educational purposes too...

lol wtf is that the geico caveman telling me how to tame some strange?
He also teaches his customers how to throw away 10 bucks ... it's the first thing they learn

Been playing 3440x1440 UW with the 4k pack on my Vega 64 and was curious how much faster the 1080 was due to gameworks. Good to know it's not much different at all. The game just eats higher res alive with the exception of a 1080ti and TitanV

Bad time for the release of a game with such demanding graphics requirements.

Many gamers are still on GTX 970/980 or RX480, so 60fps at 1080p Highest will be out of reach. With the shortage of graphics cards and their astronomical prices due to mining (and there is no end to it anytime soon), many will not be able to see the full potential of the game graphics before it becomes obsolete.
