Firmware Update Problem with Monitor

All I see is the monitor is great and cheap and the issue was solved, but they're still the worst?

Windows 10 and windows 11 can not format properly a fat drive.
AFAIK they do, but they'll format the drive only up to 32GB (even if the drive is larger)?

I have an AOC monitor that is so old it only has VGA and DVI and it still works great, albeit I had to purchase a 10 dollar adapter for DVI to HDMI to hook it up to newer stuff. This was before firmware and parts had to work right when you first plugged them in meaning they kept in house for a while testing it BEFORE selling it instead of you being the product tester, so YOU can report the bugs and YOU can install new software that you shouldn't even need. It's a monitor for Pete's sake. We made millions of TV's for decades without any firmware updates.

You should change your topic title then :)

after x amount of hours you can't edit titles, i already checked if i could earlier today. also, my answer is the same im still never buying AOC again. i have higher expectations for customer service turn around times for a simple question... so I will try a different company for my next monitor.

fair. technically speaking i don't need to update the firmware. i don't think i will either. but again i can't edit the title so eh

edit: mods helped me change the title

That is a long term microsoft bug. It says fat, but it is formatetd to exfat. exfat can not be read or used by my lg car radio which was brand new 5 years ago.

Note: I formated seversl different USB drives with different sizes for my car radio without problems with the gnu userspace. Different software used. Even gparted works fine for the lazy. LG Car radio manual claims only usb sticks smaller as 4gb works. Well i use multiple different, different brands, 16gb usb sticks, 4gb usb, ...

It does not bother me much as a very long term gnu linux user. that is a fact! Windows 10 and windows 11 can not format properly a fat drive.
there is a 3rd party software for that... like HP USB Format tool...
some stuff could be built-in into OS, but if it doesn't work properly, i'll be better using 3rd party stuff. and i won't cry if i should install it. it's a PC. come on. but, not pre-installing calculator app on a tablet.. cmon, apple... wtf.. :D

Seems the Amazonbasics monitor is made by AOC
