having pretty much got a half a new system.
cpu,mobo and ram being new.

confronted with another problem.

playing destiny 2 for about 2 hours or so,the screen went black but pc was still running.
didnt come back on.had to turn pc completly off.

having aida64 and a g15 keyboard the sensors for Gpu diode on the screen said n/a for the temps after the crash.

usually the gpu idles at about 28c and 60 under load.

not sure what to look at in the event viewer.

this has never happend before.maybe thinking Psu.
gfx card is only about a year or so old.

In the event viewer look for a red warning circle.

In the meantime, it sounds to me like the driver crashed, which is why you also lost the temperature readings afterward.

I had this problem a lot with my own AMD. Have you overclocked it? If so, set at stock. I think we would like to see if an event showed up first, though.

the card isnt overclocked.
got 4 red errors,1 yellow warning and 1 critical at the time of the crash.

Can you copy down those errors and post them here?

Yes I want to see this, by the way what drivers are you using exactly. Are mobo drivers updated too?

What's the specs of the PC? You mentioned power supply? How old? What brand/model?

Sorry I’m on the iOS app so it doesn’t have a nice drop down like the normal webpage shows. Corsair HX 520. How long have you had it? Possible it just had some drop on the line that caused the driver to crash.

Oh forgot to ask, is the card OC or stock? I assume stock?

We’re you able to replicate the problem again?

thats ok.

had it about 5-6 years old i reckon.

the card is stock.

played destiny 2 for about an hour and all seems fine so far.

you can google those and you'll see they look more like . . "OS maintenance issues" than related to loosing video out on the card. well aside from the shut down, last one.

my cool stroy bro:

a few weeks ago my 980ti went blank on the screen and shut down as you experienced. it would take a hard boot, shuttingg off the PSU, to get my rig going. but then it would go blank booting into windows after being fine at POST.

i got all stoked still being under warranty about maybe getting a pascal card. but the tech support guy i talked to told me it could be a driver issue since it was fine until the OS.

and low and behold, i DDU'd the old driver (using another card) when back to what driver worked and i still have my maxwell card. :(

TL: DR
yeah try using another driver, nothing to points to anything else ATM.

Possible the psu? The warranty is listed at 5 years and your right around it. Anymore crashes today with destiny 2?

played for about 3 hours last night.

all seems well.

temps about 65c under load

but i seem to get alot of fps drops within the game. bottleneck maybe? other games not so much.
highest settings or the lowest still get the drops.
