First time building a pc

I am planing to build myself a nice gaming pc and i have all the parts that i want to get, but i don't know if they are really good for gaming. Let me know if i need to change anything.

Just ground yourself when putting it together. Avoid building it on carpet or something like that.

Looks very good, but why are you doing a non overclocking processor with a z chipset motherboard. You can save a few bucks by going with a another chipset that doesnt allow overclocking.

Or if you want to learn about overclocking, get a 7700k over from ebay and it will teach you how.

Id ditch one of those spinners and pick up an SSD to pair with a 2-4TB Green HDD.

OOPS, looks like WD makes Green SSDs... not sure how I like the sound of that though.

is it me or is that PSU pointlessly powerful, which means higher idle usage out of the wall socket

also, first time yet fancy water cooling on a non overclocked not that demanding cpu... what's the point? waste of money, technically potential for a leak, just use a $30 air cooler

Do you really need massive and quite expensive Corsair big tower for this configuration and such powerful PSU? In other words this configuration isn't something that I would recommend.

Here is my suggestion, since you said that it will be mainly a gaming machine:

- Intel Core i5 7600K
- Be Quiet Shadow Rock Slim or Cryorig H5 Universal cooler
- Asrock Z270 Extreme4 or MSI Z270 Krait Gaming or MSI Z270 Gaming Pro
- Sapphire Nitro RX480 8GB or XFX RX480 GTR Black Edition
- 16 GB (2x8GB) G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3000
- ADATA SP 550 240GB
- Toshiba P300 2TB
- Be Quiet Pure Power 10 600W (more than enough for that system) or Enermax Thriatlor FC 650W
- Aerocool Aero-1000 or Coolermaster Masterbox 5 or Raidmax Monster II case
- 3 Arctic F12 PWM fans (2 in, 1 out)

Ive done every single build I have ever done on carpet. Just dont be an idiot and touch the pins in the CPU socket.

Also, don't drink and build. It can be a disaster, lol.

Seriously, starting with a turn-key build will be easy and it's quite rewarding. A few pointers:

1. Don't force a cable in a place that it doesn't fit
2. Don't force anything in a place it doesn't fit
   
3. Keep the PSU unplugged until you've triple checked all your connections. Don't forget the two power cables from the PSU to the Motherboard
4. Treat the pins in the CPU socket like they're very fragile - they are the most delicate thing on the entire build
5. Watch some videos on applying thermal paste

I always do a benchtop build on a wooden surface and testing before installing everything into the case. If something doesn't work, it's a bitch to tear it all out to troubleshoot.

I use to tell people who were doing a first build. Take an old PC that works. Take it completely apart then put it back together. If it works then you might be ready

i thought discharging requires grounding, but what the door frame is connected to is... an insulator? i havent researched how grounding works... but i suppose the important thing is if you ever feel a static shock when touching that door frame (like i have on light switch screws, but NOT certain door knobs) then that's probably discharging

Overall build seems solid but would recommend a better cheap high capacity SSD (500GB ideally) for main boot drive by either Samsung or Crucial who are slight cheaper than WD 500GB SSD from some quick research.
