Files are:

Original bios: stok1.rom ( amdvbflash -s stok1.rom )

Modded bios base on the original: mod1.rom

I am trying to flash the modded version of the original into the card, which gives me following errror using the UEFI distribution of AMDVBFLASH version 2.93:

Dont do that. There is nothing to gain from doing that.

Use as is

Ok, but what do you mean?

I am using the card for GPU mining

I am facing similar problem with a RX 5700 XT Pulse, without any chance the card won't flash.

Since I also learning, I would like to understand what is prohibiting the card from flashing.... can you tell me?

Regards,

RX 5700 XT Sapphire Pulse:

Hello
As @eidairaman1 said earlier, please DO NOT flash it with modd BIOS.
Why ? Because you can brick it and most of all you won't obtain nothing out of modding it.
On the other hand i suggest to put it in HiveOS and use whatever setting you like to obtain the best hash rate or like in my case to underclock it and to obtain good power consumption.

Use afterburner to up the ram speed, flashing it will do nothing

If you want to flash it, you'll need to use an old patched AMDVBFLASH. I believe igorslab has the goods in that regard. We don't.

I am currently hashing at 50.5 MH/s at 85W reported, if I mod the BIO the card can go up to 57 MH/s, or are you saying this model with samsung memory is not good?

I have done that months ago, the cards are tunned with safe configurations

NO NO... i didn't said that a card with Samsung memory chips will fail in modding.
On a contrary.
BUT...since modding is a dangerous thing on your generation of cards, we do not recommend to flash it. Plain and simple.

Isn't there ways to eliminate the risks?

For instance, using an UPS, removing peripheral components, DOS boot, and so on

How can I know which generation is good? Before 5000's series?

Well let me explain the situation a bit :
- RX 5xx series was the last one where you could flash it almost at zero risk (assuming you know what are you doing)
Starting with Vega then with 5xxx series and later with 6xxx series, AMD signed the BIOS and made it almost impossible to reflash it.
There is always a little door where you can bypass those measures took by AMD.
But still, as i said i do not recommend flashing it.
For example i am using 2x 6600XT in HiveOS but i am using only the HiveOS settings to make it work as i want.
AGAIN...i do not recommend, but you are free to do it.

Depressing

In case of sucess of the BIOS reflash, is the part number refered as xxx-xxx-xxxx a consequence?

yes that is one of the consequences.

the worst could be a brick in your hand.

5XXX series doesn't have the sig checks. Everyone gets confused on this, because it's the odd duck out. I modded the heck out of mine to escape some driver bugs back when I had one.

Read the links I posted, please.

Hehe I know my friend, that is clear

So why my flashing procedure didn't work? The ROM sizes are equal, just moddfied the straps, not much changed, is the amdvbflash provided here locked?

No, the cards are

No, the cards are
Before anything I issued amdvbflash -unlockrom

It didn't work either...

This lockage means that the BIOS chip is locked to prevent reflashes? Because in case of a BIOS reflash there is some possibility of the chip getting destructed and as consequence a bricked GPU ?

Get a spi flasher

Yes, you need the patched one. We only host unpatched binaries.

These cards are not locked AFAIK.
I understand, so in order to flash the modded BIOS with amdvbflash from here it needs a valid digital signature?

No, it needs the patched flasher program. From the link I posted above.

Depending on how many cards you have and how many you can actually get to run at the '57MH/s' will be varied. My 5700XT's I couldn't bios mod, gave up and didn't care. Just used them. The difference that 5.5MH/s will make in the difficulty today is nothing of note whatsoever. It's not worth bricking a card over a few MH's.

But if you wish to do so, which you seem to do, then that is down to you. I'd just run them with your safe config, enjoy the fact you have the cards to begin with and that after all is said and done, you won't need to do anything to get them back to stock.. I don't see any benefit at all. Some models just can't be flashed, so just leave alone and make the best out of a bad situation :)

Well, earlier i told him to leave it as it is now, but i can see that he really want to have a brick in his house :)
