How does this compare to the Coolermaster Q300L in terms of airflow/noise?

It looks similar to ancient CM N200 to me. There isn't much variety on mATX form factor both in terms of motherboard and casing as compared to ITX which usually have a lot more feature (stronger VRM too and inclusion of WiFi card and such) and unique case design. One more thing puzzled me is if you plan for mATX or ITX build there is high probability you don't plan to use optical drive at all.

When I was shopping for a new case, it was between the Fractal Design Focus G and a Corsair 450D High Airflow case, both were very similar in appearance but the Corsair unit looked a better finish and had front I.O ports, something I prefer to top ports, it also had an easy to remove front dust filter and 14cm front fans in place of the latter's 12cm units.
I also had no issue top mounting my 240 Radiator above the Motherboard leaving ample room.

it would be nice to review the front audio panel, to see if it has interference .
