With the Meshify 2, Fractal Design is refreshing the series with all the elements we have seen and loved in the Define 7. That said, they naturally kept the mesh front design to maximize airflow for great temperatures. At $139 with three fans included, pricing is very reasonable, too.

so the Fractal Design Meshify 2 and the Fractal Design Meshify S2 are two different cases?...well that's not confusing at all....

Indeed confusing. Seems like the Meshify 2 has better flow filters, they appear just mesh or nylon. Whereas the Meshify S2 has a thick foam as filters (I have one). Other than that the only changes I see is also that plate metal cover for the back to cover cables, I don't remember my Meshify S2 having that...

Meshify C is that best case i've ever used by far. As long as they keep the air filtration at the same level it'll be the case for my next build.

Yes they are.

I have the S2, I like some of the changes they made to the front panel. However I prefer the feet on the S2. And the extra storage is nice if you need it. I have a NAS in my environment and no longer due bulk storage in my desktops so not a difference for me.

I have the Meshify S2 and love it so far (haven't yet cleaned the filters). Beautiful feel, fit, and finish; all necessary parts; sides remove easily (both of mine are metal); lots of internal space and drive mounts; excellent ventilation; many fan locations w some filters; great looks. Considering all this - and that it will last indefinitely - the price is a very small consideration for me.

I'm posting mainly to comment on use of the MSI Prestige X570 motherboard with this case. It fits, but the board is so wide that its front edge covers about half of each of the cable feed-through slots. Meaning it makes these slots very narrow, effectively. That's not much of a problem with the thin SATA drive cables, but is a concern with the big mobo power cable.

My eventual solution was to pull the cables through these slots before installing the mobo. Or you can run them on top (mobo side) instead of behind the main panel, but that will be a mess, with its own problems.

This isn't a knock on Fractal since EATX board sizes can vary so much. But if those slots were 1 cm further towards the front, this big mobo would fit much better. But that might run into the HDD cage which I didn't install...

Overall, a terrific choice in this category.

So worst case scenario is that the Meshify 2 is 3 dBA louder than the Define 7? That's..minor?

Up to now i was aiming for the Define 7 for my next build but i might have to re-think that. Please tell me Fractal is going to do an actual all-white Meshify 2.

What HDD cage?

They are on the back side of the case.

You're right. I built this 9 months ago and was recalling that moving the cable slots a bit would run into HDD space. However, that's because of where they mount on the back, not because of a cage in the front. In that regard I confused it with another case.

To add some numbers: the MSI Prestige Creation X570 is 10.7" (272 mm) wide. From that I'd say that a board 275 mm or wider would make the feed-through slots unusable.

I enjoyed reading the review.

In my opinion, these bolded items would benefit from better grammar:
  • [page 6] "even big 2.5 or 3-slot cards will easily fit as long as their I/O plate is at the most dual-slot." -> missing some GPU-positional word?
  • [summary] "Storage trays completely out of steel" -> maybe "Storage trays are made of (solid) steel"?
