Freesync monitor

The premium Freesync monitors are quite pricey for that LFC feature. If it's just this game then I guess I should just try to look past this issue. I mean there's no sense in wasting money if RTSS can keep things smooth in other games.

most of them are starting at 48hz.
If you got dips below 35fps, it won't help much.
In that case you would need a better GPU.

I agree with most. Ideally you want a higher refresh than 75hz for a better experience. but the problem is that your current system aint so great at pushing high refresh rates.

I would still push for a higher refresh. That way, if you upgrade your system later on down the road you'll still be able to hold on to your monitor. My previous monitor i held on for 10 years. Thats like at least 2-3 different machines that have come and gone and all used the same old monitor. So its definitely worth investing in as its usually the last item on the list that gets upgraded providing it doesnt develop a hardware fault and need outright replacing.

Hi all

I'm thinking of getting the Samsung LF24T350 24inch monitor with Freesync. Will this improve my gaming experience? I'm currently using a normal monitor with an Rx6600xt and Rtss cap 60fps. I still get little microstutters and drops below 60fps.

Just an idea. I have a similar setup on my game machine where I have an rx6600xt and a 60fps monitor (specifically 3800x, rx6600xt, and a freesync 60fps monitor). Some games were giving me stutters and I ended up swapping out my HDMI cable with a 4K premium cable (ultra-speed not high-speed) and the stutters disappeared and freesync started to show further game improvement when enabled.

So learned a valuable lesson. When it comes to gaming don't cheap out on a HDMI cable.

Another thing too. Sometimes windows might not configure your monitor to run at 60Hz by default so check for that and adjust it if necessary.

You think it's worth it for me I have a dellse2422h non Freesync monitor. It might not even display.

I don't really have any recommendations on monitors. I pretty content with my 60Hz FreeSync, IPS, HDR experience now that I don't have stutters anymore.

- HDR is nice to turn on if your room has a lot of bright sunlight. FreeSync to get a bit more FPS but I only turn it on when playing games because I get a black screen problem when my monitor goes to sleep otherwise.

A (freesync) monitor doesn't give you more fps.
To get more fps you need either to O/C your hardware or get a more powerful GPU than you have now.
Yea I might be wrong about that. I could have sworn I got an fps improvement (in game, not rendered) after enabling it with Horizon Zero Dawn and using the built in benchmark tool.

Whats the rest of your system specs?

Be Completely detailed about each component-power supply, motherboard, cpu&heatsink, ram, storage drives, case, air cooling?

A new monitor will do nothing to solve microstutters and drops below 60fps, you're looking to solve a problem with the wrong solution.
