Hello all... i will be qiuck.
I need some answers for a silly question... will a Scythe Ninja 3 cooler with 2 Corsair SP120 fans will handle to dissipate the heat from a FX-9370 or FX-9590 cpu's? The 9370 OC to 4.7Ghz and the 9590 OC to 5Ghz?!
Or should i go 100% with a Corsair H100i instead? Thanks

You need liquid cooling anyway. I'd love to see a air cooler take on 220w on full loads.

Best piece of advice, use AMD's advice with what they sell with retail box of that cpu, get the liquid cooler.

I recon a Scythe Ninja 3 would work if you don't have any choice. You'll be constantly running close to maximum temperature though, so I can hardly recommend it.
If you have the money, go for a H100i:)

I would use LN2 for 9590 but anyways you can use the basic heat spreader there is no need even for thermal compound.
Seriously you need to go liquid for this.

Well I use to run my 8350 that is clocked at 4.4 on a Hyper 212+ so yes you can get away with an air cooler and be fine as long as it is of good quaility. I ran in the low 50's with the 212+ under load. I switched to an H100i and temps dropped a lot.

I was talking about the stock amd cooler if you see any quality there i know a good doctor. Personally i use an air cooler too on that CPU but not the stock cooler and i didn't OCed my 8core to 5GHz (i'm on 4.3GHz enough for me).

Thanks but if you read my post you will see i said "you can get away with an air cooler and be fine as long as it's good quality." Stock amd cooler doesn't fit the good quality when overclocking or used with an Fx9. May work fine for a stock speed Fx8 with good case flow but we are not talking about stock speed Fx8's. An Fx 9370 and as far as this goes the 9590 are binned and factory Overclocked Fx8's. So a Fx 8350 clocked at 4.4 = 9370 atleast pretty close to it. So my statement stands. A very good air cooler can also be used on these chips as long as they are of good quality.

For a 9370, it should be more than enough to handle it but the 9590 would be running close to the limit. I have seen a 9590 run on a massive air cooler before (Trying to remember which one but I am drawing a blank) and it did just fine temp wise but its safer to grab a nicer AIO to handle it.
