Thats exactly what Im doin right now with this kit. Overclocking. It looked like it will be able to do 4200 c17, but its funny it always crashed in 4th 5th run in memtest. Now im trying to squeeze at least 4133 out of em. With my 4500 corsairs it was different. If it passed initial run, it would pass all 10 tests. Will update on progress.
Running tests on apex xi

P.S. you can also check out my “ghetto pc build” YT: ninezerofive
Made an RGB display of this kit, next vid coming up will be CPU OC, and then ill do a seperate video regarding this RAM kit OC Capability.

This reminds me of their 2x8GB TridentX 2400MHz DDR3 kit. You couldn't really do much with the kit other than tweak some subtimings. Some people could get them to 2500MHz. Having kits like this certainly eliminates any guesswork. You won't be left wondering if you could get anything more out of the kit.

I believe, there is OC headroom. But need SA 1.35V, DRAM voltage 1.55+V at and change the CL to the 15 or 14 (voltage 1.85-1.9V). Or CL19 and higher memory clocks.

Should show us secondary and tertiary. I think it would vary from motherboard to motherboard, but I'm curious what they're automatically set to.

It's for compatibility, so the kit is guaranteed to boot in pretty much any system you put it in.

Any high frequency RAM review without AM4 compatibility is nonsense.
XMP is just for Intel platforms only and most high frequency RAMs cannot run XMP's parameters on AM4 platform.

I don't think you build an AMD system to put £300 worth of ram in it anyway.

I know JDECE 1066 is for compatibility but at least put JEDEC 1333 profile also as AMD's 1st and 2nd gen Ryzen and Intel's 8th and 9th gen support 1333(2666) out of the box.

Not a lot of "value" mention in that section of the revue, that left out for any particular reason? 'Cause it really needs to be touched on, ie. ouchies on that price, a little on the crazy side.

Why is that nonsense. Using expensive fast low latency memory (3200 C14) is a normal thing for Ryzen. Because, having Infinity Fabric, Ryzens get a bigger benefit from fast low latency RAM, than Intels.
I aim to Zen 2 - Ryzen 9 3800X (16c/32t) this summer. And i will use my old 32GB $400 worth kit. Since it in 2 sticks with Samsung B-die chips, gonna fit perfect for Ryzen.
Many streamers and prosumers who using Ryzen 7 1700 or Ryzen 7 2700X CPUs, has also expensive low latency 16/32GB RAM kits (not mention TR4 guys with 64GB kits). Because it have sense for AM4 / TR4 platforms.
On the other side, Intel performs decent even with 2666 C19 cheap memory. Easier to OC any chips, Hynix or even Micron. Much higher OC cap, 4000MHz+. But on AMDs AM4/TR4 platforms RAM OC cap is low yet, you can't pass 3600MHz mark. And even 3600MHz is hard af.

Quick update, got the latest Bios update on Apex XI, 0805 with improved Ram stability, got it running 4100 17-17-17-37 stable, will see what frequencies I can do with 16-17-17 and 16-16-16-36, then will compare the performance and will try to reduce the Ram Voltage and System Agent voltage. Current test with 1.45 & 1.35

P.S. That's true Rivage, but I think majority of people who went Ryzen did that because of the budget and most won't be interested in 300 worth of ram anyhow. I think that's the price point, if you are going for 2700x and thinking to add high price ram to it, then it's better to go intel from the start. And I will believe in existence of 3800x when I will see it with my own eyes ;)

Hmm. Don't know. Since i7-9700K with 8 threads doesn't look interesting to me. And i9-9900K quite op
But if go with i7-9700K, then yes, maybe
