Galaxy GTX 470 GC Version Graphics Card Unveiled

i saw once an rma statistic of all brands (ati/nvidia)

Link? I cant imagine PoV would have any more RMA's than any other nVidia partner...

On-topic... that shroud is FUGLY! It really does look like a Mighty Max toy. I generally like blue PCBs, but for some reason, I just dont think the color scheme is great. However, ingenious design for cleaning the HS, and good to see some non-reference designs being released for Fermi.... wonder how the temps would be for this...?

bedankt jo! for the laughs!

yes intel+nvidia= best (s3, 3dfx, matrox apart of course :)

I HOPE that Point of View is just using Nvidias generic stuff because .....

looks ugly as sin to me . . . . . .

'A test by the source shows that with this cooling solution, the GTX 470 GC Version manages to keep the GPU at around 88 degrees Celsius with Furmark load' - Not really worth bragging about...

Meh, not really. At least its slightly OC'd...
Still. Fugly cooler, high temps, only a slight performance increase over standard GTX470s. Definitly not worth it.

maybe you can't I can though xd
maybe you shoot look it up for your self it's bin almost over a year that I saw something like that,

I think I know what he's talking about and that was a good while ago.

Looks okay. The fan hinge thing is a neat idea I suppose. Although I haven't had much issues with dust there. Then again my case seems to be really good for dust.

I think the card would actually look pretty good if the plastic wasn't so bright. Like in dark gunmetal gray or black it would look better.

how is 88 degrees high in furmark??? My recent furmarks (kombustor to be honest) where at 100ºC and still climbing when I cancelled that Nuclear Apòcalipsis hehehe

ugh all that fugly plastic

That was way back.. maybe because POV was only making nVidia cards?

and that brace that holds the fan.. looks like it would melt since its lying on the deadspot.

Gracias. Thats crazy... I would have expected most nVidia board partners to have similar failure rates, due to the fact most nVidia cards nowadays are based on the reference designs. Interesting though, thanks for the link! :toast:

Not only BASED on reference designs, mate! They are MADE by Nvidia in the same factory and distributed in practically finished state to the 'assemblers' (from big ones like Asus to small ones like Evga or POV, etc)... That's for the standard cards (I see you coming hehe)

Hey look, you can even barbecue with this bad boy...

OK that is one piece of hawt equipment galaxy has come up with.

What the heck?

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

No doubt... almost every new pc product that comes out, there's always someone who goes OMG UGLY...

This reminds me of a pencil case I had LOL..(It had a Temp meter and a pressure gouge too)

Someone should give it a "paintjob"... as in scratches, burns, cracks and so on. At least I would! Would remind of a millenium falcon or something. (Ok, bad example but I can't think of any [square] spaceship)

I like the design, though it does look like cheap plastic. Maybe a different colour like black would help.

To be honest once it's not a stupid fake woman on a sticker I don't care.
