GameTechBench GPU benchmark is already out!

OP, is it possible to have the link to download away from Google drive. I keep getting messages about it being unable to scan the file & network issues as well... a real pain to deal with.

I didn't know about those issues. Already uploaded (too) into Itch.io servers for direct download!
Cool! Hadn't seen that link in the OP.

Yeah, I just went with the link in the OP, but my point is an end user should not be confronted with messages about those issues I mentioned above. I mean it's not exactly a small file but its a 3D BM for crying out loud so of course its going be a relatively large file. Stupid Google thinks end users are 5 yr old children & need their hand held all the time..

The messages from Google about being too large and not being able to scan? I saw them, it's one of the reasons I made the same hosting suggestion in Sept.

Thanks to @RootinTootinPootin I noticed a wrong math conversion in some shown resolutions (just cosmetic). But also noticed 1080p benchmarks (which are more CPU dependent) would draw more noticeable graph's spikes during the benchmark, due to being calculated on CPU even in a very small cumulative way. So I have fixed this by drawing them instantly, without accumulation.

Same version number with this small fix, already available.

Thank you!

I wonder how that bench run would go with an arrow lake processor under W11 24H2?

tad bit slower or equal (given windows doesn't crap up) with me doing around 5.5P/5E ring 42 NGU and D2D OC as well and RAM at around 9000MT's Gear 2 on a Sexy Z890 Apex (hope to have the hardware by december or never, who knows, in 6 or more months time, my KS isn't showing slow downs at all)

Hi all!

Quick poll, please!; old, or new 'room structure'? (Any feedback is appreciated, if something is missing!):

The idea comes because I was wanting to make it more complete and include some kind of sunlight too, not just being an interior. So there would be an exterior shot too. However, it will take more disk space (~10GB) and slightly more VRAM.

Thank you!

I hope you are not hating me due to this many new changes :p . Anyway previous version's scores would be invalidated when the last one arrives, as I said performance will notably change with the new Unreal Engine version (which is already available!). So, last version is in the oven.

I like the one with the ceiling.

~10GB's for such a small benchmark is getting a little unrealistic don't you think

It was like 4GB only with the interior. Now, with the exterior (just something arid, like the Grand Canyon) will take more space.

Still pending some space optimization in the exterior assets, but this benchmark has more than 500 textures, 1000 meshes, and 1500 millions of polygons. You could create a whole AAA game with all the assets included here, as repetition would happen constantly when you have a big enough assets database, as this benchmark already has.

Why? Have you seen the 3DMark install size? Also, the Unigine installs are sizable too. This is not unusual nor alarming.
Yeah I have it's 10GB but that has multiple different bench tests as for the Unigen installs the largest one 2.66GB and that's for superposition and between Valley Tropics and heaven it's less than 2GB so your point was Lex

I was only asking why it was so large of an install size for such a short benchmark which was then answered by Miguel one comment up from yours

Thankyou for answering my question miguel I now understand more than I did before about why the large size of the install

Yeah just looked at my installs, you're right on that. Still, 10GB is not very alarming. For the level of detail being offered it kinda seems about right.

As the last Unreal version (5.5) is getting a little buggy to migrate, I have rised the expiration date of the previous version until 1st December. This way you will be able to compare both scenarios too.

Link in itch.io, as usual.

Thanks!

A prototipe for the new scene is ready! If you are curious, you can test it now and I would be glad to read your feedback, please!

Expect lower performance, but I would say higher quality. When migrated to Unreal 5.5, if they fix some bugs in time, performance will improve a little, but quality too.

What do you think? Does it worth the change?

Thank you very much!
