Hi,

I have a laptop with the go 7400 graphics card and I have a weird problem... It's always working in "performance 3d mode" and because of that it heats up and consuming extra power for nothing... btw I'm now using windows 7. When I was using XP, it was always working in "low power 3d" mode (again not in 2d mode)

It has 3 modes, which are; "standard 2d, lower power 3d and performance 3d" that I can see in rivatuner overclocking section...

in short, my question is; what can I do to make this stupid card to run @ 2d mode all the time? I don't need any extra clock speed 'cuz I never play games with my laptop... I only need it to be cooler and battery lasting longer...:(

Just turn all (in all modes) the clocks lower...:)

First of all, downclocking isn't the same as switching to 2d mode because that mode also lowers it's voltage so its more beneficial for the battery...

and second; I can't lower it as much as 2d mode clock speeds, it has a bottom limit of 225mhz, while the 2d mode is 100mhz.

BTW I tried flashing the card's bios but that's no good either... nvflash says "eeprom is unknown.."

lol it's fixed when I installed the latest modified driver from laptopvideo2go instead of nvidia's mobile driver...
