I'm new to this type of forum so i'm sorry if i've done something wrong about this post :).

I've had my pc for some time now and i've always gotten shocked by it, it's pretty powerful too and it kinda hurts.
My pc is properly wired and it stands on the top of my mousepad, so i'm sure it's grounded - I've tried to google a bit, but to no avail.
I can't quite figure out the problem, but whenever i plug a charger or something else into the USB/aux, it shocks me, especially the corner of my case shocks me like hell.
Is it bad for the pc? do i need to do something about it?:toast:

Short answer (pardon the pun).. something is shorted not properly grounded. As always fill your system specs. Maybe a picture of the inside of the case would help.

problem is likely your houses wiring

turn the machine off(using a pencil or something non conductive) and Call an electrician ASAP this is dangerous you or somebody else could get killed very easily
certified electrician will need to check the wiring
@Mussels
this thread should be locked until the op calls an electrician safety concern if he goes poking around trying to find a non-existent problem

NOPE
do nothing until you have an electrician review the wiring
this scenario is ONLY POSSIBLE if there is a fault in the Houses wiring

With the PC unplugged, check for continuity between the ground pin of the power plug (NOT THE WALL SOCKET) and the case.

No shutup stop it Jesús this exactly my point you trying to get somebody killed

you have no idea if hes capable of safely following that instruction
Common fucking sense people

I get where you are coming from. A lot of problems can be solved by calling a professional. I would assume that OP wanted to double check if there's something he could do before that. It ain't exactly cheap to have someone check it. I also limit people going to my house with the pandemic and all. But still I get it. It is a safety hazard.

I had this problem before especially on older devices. It was one standoff that shouldnt be there, touching the motherboard. I remember always applying masking tape on those standoffs while building way back then. It might also be a faulty extension cable or worse a cheap UPS. It can also be that the plugs are not connected properly.

at the risk of continuing this thread here is the point
the fact that the op took the time to say hey my computer hurts me when i touch IT
then continues to use it and touch it

Leads me to belie he needs to call a pro

because it could be many things causing the issue but if the house wiring is not ground then the current has no-ware to return too
and a/c can kill you with very little effort if it 'hits you wrong' for lack of better phrase

Jesus, didn't expect that... thank you all for your answers:)
I'm soon educating to be an electrician, sorry for my grammar. (But i'm not experienced enough for this), thankfully my dad's an electrician so i'll ask him.

Could this also have something to do with my keyboard just being unresponsive at times? it still lights up with the rgb but not responding.
Again, thanks.

Agree, it's not a PC problem but a wiring problem.

My old case used to shock me hard and turns out someone before me did some wacko connections in my socket box to power the ceiling light (cheap fix), I rewired everything and the issue was gone.
If the sockets are grounded and something is incorrectly wired that can also cause problems.

if it was properly grounded, you wouldn't get shocked. in the U.S. check the outlet with one of these:

try another outlet and stop shocking yourself for fun. wear rubber soled shoes and don't touch anything else plugging or unplugging anything.

The biggest concern, is if the neutral is bad. That can cause electronics-killing surges. How to tell? Run a heavy load with an appliance in the house, then check the voltages on each outlet until you find one abnormally high (the leg with the least load) and an abnormally low voltage, such as 111 VAC on another outlet. (on the heavily-loaded leg)

You can get voltage readings on outlets with a UPS, by checking multiple outlets with the UPS, which means moving it around with you. (At least with North American setups)

This part got me confused. What makes you think it's grounded (apart from the fact that it's standing firmly on the ground)?

You can still use the computer as long as you only touch plastic parts, and don't connect anything that has exposed metal parts. But it doesn't mean you can just forget about the problem. Bad wiring could affect other power outlets and appliances in your house or apartment - the washing machine, dishwasher, electric stove, fridge etc.
