Hi.. Im wondering how to get started with reviewing hardware. I dont have alot of money and Im happy to review hardware to help out the community. I have only done reviews that I ahve kept in text documents that I planned to post as samples.. Got deleted by cousin. How do you guys think I could get started?.. I have a camera...But I doubt any top company would just send me something.. If they did it would probably be a x58 something or another and I have no i7.. I was thinking maybe a case, speakers,keyboard... somewhere in that range.. Maybe even phenom II... I just need a newer product so I can review it for a sample.. But as stated above I have no money know from a previous lay off..

IDK, but IMHO you should do some reviews of what you have...post them here...and let the community decide. Manufacturers do not want to send you hardware if no one is going to listen to your reviews anyway. Review what you have...get a following...and the free parts will come. Ask CDAWALL...He gets all kinds of kewl $hit. :toast:

I know but look at specs.. What is reviewable?

This is what I did with mine. I always found it hard to start. Start with pictures and specifications of the hardware. Then list drivers and test system specifications. I kept all my notes on a piece of paper e.g. the games I was testing then ticked them once I had done them. Also kept my results safe by taking pictures of them. You should start by reviewing your own hardware or a friends. You can check my review in my sig if you want to copy that.

What do you mean by copy that?... Like idea wise :D

Uhhh...everything you have is reviewable. You have some pretty nice hardware, so share your experience. DrPep has a great format. Review what you got...I would read it. :rockout:

Ok... Ima do CPU... Maybe Video CArd after CPU.. DEpending on what kinda feeling i get for it..

everything can be reviewed. what is more important is to learn (by experience) how to do the whole thing.

dont expect to make money from reviewing, going to mcdonalds is more efficient for that. review because you like to play with hardware, have a passion for hardware/photographing/writing.

WEll im not really doing it for the money... I do love hardware thats the main reason.. But I would also like to be able to use the hardware that I review.. money is optional my pay will be either saving people from buying gay hardware or the exact opposite..Im very poor and i look at reviewing as helping while upgrading.

usally when they send you something to review you have to send it back or send it to someone esle

you dont always keep the product

start with what you have

do atleast 50 good reviews and send them to places you want to review for this way you can show what you have done

When I did my review I didn't excpect to get anything for it. Also only when you get a position on a prominent tech website will you get paid or sent free hardware. Although most who do reviews do it for free asfaik.

Another problem I think I will have is... Most reviews compare what there reviewing to others.. I cant do that because of lack of parts..

I didn't do comparisons myself. I was going to but the 4870X2 didn't like my psu.
