Is what possible? That it will likely short out the PSU and probably catch something on fire? Yes. :)
protections exist in even bad PSUs these days. More worried about frying the ssd.

but no, i was wondering if the notches even line up for nvme and sata port :D

I've already got a somewhat effective measly mini portable vacuum cleaner for our keyboards but at times requires several passes or some added manual labour with a brush to loosen up the squatters. Can't be bothered with air dusters anymore. Needed a secondary zero-hassle more effective solution, an attachment to tie in with our 890w Miele C3 vacuum cleaner. Its a mini mod with a fly net filter to avoid gobbling up KB keys and works a treat. First time use - only one/two quick passes, zero-hassle, the keyboard bed is so clean i can sleep on it.

Let's all take deep breath ,it is not strictly PC related but ghetto af. Adjustable drawing board with backlight cost gazillion buck so in my twisted modder mind I conceived project to please my art inclined kid and save major beer money at the same time .Crazy? Perhaps but crazy is my middle name :D :toast: Frame and table is going to be made out of 0.8mm plexi. Total cost ? Next to nothing. Recycled material most of it so maybe we are talking 50$ top. I can live with that :D:toast:

Adjustable stand is made out of two old adjustable chairs .There , at least I've made myself laugh.Cheers. Work in progress though.

Not sure if it qualifies, but I had a cheapo non-working A320 board at the office. Fixed it a few days back, but it had no CPU backplate (and somehow I had no AM4 donors at my workshop either).
New ones from China only cost ~$2, but I didn't want to wait a whole month for it to arrive.
So, this morning I decided to make my own. Just needs a bit longer M4 screws and a few spare nuts. I totally forgot to take bolts with me, so I'll only be able to test it out tomorrow.

Hi,
Yeah I had to ghetto mode a ocool metal backplate meant for probably a aio cooler opr heatkiller or something also had a plastic one because it showed it had hardware and the metal one didn't both were dirt cheap so wth.

Little bitty #4-40 x 1" bolts is what I needed and had to add a washer so it would fit my z490 board and optimus foundation water block
Forgot my black sharpie hehe
I'm used to ghetto modding cpu mounts but those #4-40 x 1" I lucked out at home depot getting those lol

Of course all this was necessary because i lost my optimus backplate
It was pretty much junk plastic anyway.

It still belongs here. You're making a solution with non-original equipment. I think it's cool!

happened to me several times. Disgusting aftermath being rippin the hoover bag and breathing that nasty stuff inside to pull it out... As a result usually every couple of months i'd have to unplug the KB and pop outside and air dust the living crap out of it instead. Finally got one of those USB mini portable vacuums but not exactly the most effective unless put to use regularly. This new scientific miracle, since light bulbs, steam engines and telephones... a piece of fly net with a brush attachment achieves so much more (Lol)

Yep, it worked. Won't do for a wraith prism or stealth, but it sure does a great job for a cheap chinese 3-heatpipe tower on top of my R5-1600AF.
Nothing can make my day any better than an almost freebie Ryzen PC.

I'm just printing v2 of my printed I/O cover for the bottom of my motherboard.

EDIT
Here is v1, which did not fit quite right, so done an adjustment and reprinting it. It's a bit boxy, so with a bit more practice and learning how to design from scratch i might be able to make it look better. At least this v2 might get the measurements closer.

Imagine waiting on the runway, flight delayed watching maintenance switching the pilots monitor with the co-pilots working monitor. Yes, only the Capt had a working monitor. Took 1 hour 20 min.... I never did this on MS flight sim

I don't like flying one bit. And I had a connecting flight to make at the other end, thankfully I made it home

A big percentage of plane accidents are pilot error, currently watching through air crash investigations. Imo the sooner there are less meat bags in charge, the better. Ai will have a use for stuff like this and autonamous cars and there will be far less accidents.

Its sort of a catch 22. Industry is expanding so it needs more pilots. But more and more pilots these days are just button pushers because modern airplanes are all fly by wire. At this point im not even sure which causes what.

btw if you like investigations i can recommend a few top channels:
1. Mentour Pilot
2. Captain Joe
3. Green Dot Aviation
4. Air Safety Institute
5. Blancolirio
6. Mayday Air Disaster (has all the TV show episodes here :D)

Some pretty wild edge effects are possible with plexi/acrylic if you get the lighting right. Sort of a glowing colored neon 3D - only translucent so it shifts as you move around. Very artsy refraction of any colors it picks up.

GTX 690 Cooler on a C2Q 9400
1. Getting everything together
1.jpg
2. I check the size of the cooler to see if it will even fit. The GTX 690 has 2 heatsinks. The one in this image didn't fit without the CPU's loading mechanism removed. The other heatsink did fit with the loading mechanism installed, so I went on to use that one instead.
2.jpg
3. Surface flatness / contact check. A little drop of thermal paste to see if it presses down well.

3.jpg
4. Just checking the fit & clearance. Added some small copper heatsinks to the anemic VRM as well.
4.jpg5.jpg
5. Added a case fan from an old build. Some 120mm RGB rainbow vomit from corsair (really good airflow though). Placed double-sided sticky pads on the VRM's copper heatsinks to act as an anchor. Placed the sticky pads on to the top of the memory sticks as well, to make sure the fan doesn't wiggle around. Everything is nice and secure.

6. Installation issues.. was afraid I broke something. Turns out the SSD decided to die and become a coffee coaster.

7. Using an old 250 GB SSD instead. I broke the plastic supporting the pins on the SATA connection port, so there's nothing for the SATA connector to "snap" into. Using more double-sided sticky pads to hold the connector in place and prevent disconnects while in use.
10.jpg
8. Final result: It just sits on my desk and runs as a nice little show piece. Will probably use it for retro XP games since the laptop I recently bought for that purpose decided to die on me. Ideally, I would like to purchase a cool looking GPU rather than the plain 670 it currently has. Maybe a 7970 Lightning or something similar.
