morning all,

i have a gigabyte-ga-965p-dq6 and a c2d e6600,

the problem is i turned on my pc 1 morning and i see the bios screen and it said deleting bios??

after that happened it reset and failed to post, i could not see any bios or hear no beeps, it just seemed dead.

i tried the usual things like clearing cmos but that never worked. i then disconected everything but the cpu and 1 stick of ram and left the speaker on but still no luck.

i know its not the power supply, ram or cpu as i tried them in another machine and they work fine,

just wanted to know if any one else has seen this problem or if anyone knows how i can reset the bios even tho i cant get into it?

many thanks.

Did it delete both the main bios and backup bios? Because these motherboards should boot into the backup bios if anything has gone wrong, with the main one.

I have no idea whether it will work, but if you have access to a floppy disk, and have a fdd on your pc, try putting the latest bios for your board on it. Then boot with the fdd in.

I'd recommend bios F12. I had it on my DS4 and it worked well :)

You could also try mashing the delete key upon start up, see if it gets you into the board options?

Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.
ive had this happen too... a long time ago with a 965P DS3...

i cant remember how it fixed itself but it took a bit of fiddling....

Have you tried leaving it unplugged and taking out the battery for 10 mins? I know you said CLRCMOS but i remember doing that and thinking it was weird.

the auto-recover bios might have bricked your board. Shoot an email to Gigabyte and see what they say.
