GIGABYTE RTX 3080 GAMING OC

  • GV-N3080GAMING OC-12GD

GPU-Z can recognize and ID the 4 of the cards (GPU=GA102, Rev=FF, Device ID=10DE 220A - 1458 40A2)

I have tried the following drive installs:
472.84-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-whql
511.79-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql
511.17-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql
472.12-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-whql

None will get by the system compatibility check with various reasons. eg. Compatible card not found, wrong version for your version of Windows (Win 10 x64)
511.79 says:
This DCH driver package is not compatible with the currently installed version of Windows. This system is configured to require a Standard driver package. The correct driver can be downloaded from NVIDA.com/drivers by selecting the "Standard" option under the "Windows Driver Type" menu.

Which is of course, where I got it from in the first place.

I also tried the NVCleanstall and selected just the driver - still failed with this message:
This NVIDIA graphics drivers is not compatible with this version of Windows. This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.

Same issue with Linux, it recognizes the cards, but won't load the driver.

I'm out of ideas at this point and could really use some suggestions please.

Thank you.

Did you buy the card used or new? If new, either exchange from where you got it, or RMA with Gigabyte.

Try to clean Windows with DDU and then try reinstalling the newest driver package. Depending on how old your Windows 10 Version is, you may need the non DCH driver package.

Video card possibly not seated properly. Saw an issue resembling this before, where Windows would only load the generic VGA driver.

Its because you are using the 12GB OC version of the 3080 video card perhaps. I had the same issue.
See page 8 of this release notes https://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/511.17/511.17-win11-win10-release-notes.pdf

"GeForce 511.17 WHQL The driver includes support for the 12GB GeForce RTX 3080, it seems ONLY the 3080 series is supported in this driver."

See this link here. I am assuming the card was not supported in previous versions?? I guess?

Let me know if that works for you.
GeForce 511.17 WHQL driver download (guru3d.com)
