I was having some issues with my computer:
- After windows shutdown I had to hold down the power button to shut down the computer completely
- Random crashes in XP SP3 in "Explorer" "Internet Explorer" and "Notepad"
- I was unable to install vista, updated DVD-writer firmware, problem still occured
- Lowest memory timings possible was 4-4-4-7

After I installed Bios F12f ( beta ) all problems were solved. I am about to test my memory at 4-4-4-3 because the 4-4-4-4 test just succeeded. The reason why I post this because I couldn't find any user-reviews about this beta-bios. TPU topics can be found on google so hopefully this topic will answer the "is it safe to use this beta" question that I see on many ICT-forums.

I still haven't installed Vista, gonna do that after I find the lowest memory timings.

Does anyone know a good tool that shows what the advantages are with timings like 4-4-4-3 1000Mhz vs 5-5-5-15 1066Mhz ( default ). And I want to know the real advantages. Not the 1FPS difference on 1024x768 in games...

I used everest memroy test suite to get the difference in bandwidth for my timings...also used SuperPi to see if there was a time drop as well!

Running my tracers like this 24/7

4-4-4-1 at 900Mhz, very nice! Don't think I can go that low at 1000Mhz but I am sure gonna try. I am doing these tests now that my PC is in a room where it's 25°C, that way I know it will be stable all year long.

Thats what I was going for was 24/7 clocks, and I agree these wont do 1000MHz at those timings!

Just an exapmple of what I ended up with, more for the example of what to look for in testing!

Also great work on timings for 1000MHz BTW!

Just finished Memtest Pro at 4-4-4-3, next test 4-4-4-2!
I love this tool, so much faster then Memtest in dos-mode and it actually works just as good.
I always test with Prime95 for 6 hours once memory tuning is complete to be 100% sure it's stable.

Mmm...I've run in to a little problem. Once I change tRAS to 2 or to 1, it changes to 23 in Windows.
Then when I go back in Bios I still see the value that I've set, how is that possible?

Well, I guess I can be satisfied with 4-4-4-3, unless anyone knows how to fix my problem.
