xfire x2900xt is a power hungry game too, not only will you need the mobo but quite possibly need a new psu. if you sell yours and get a (g92) 8800gt or gts 512 you will get better performance than yours and your m8s. if you want to stay with ati get a 3870 x2 as it is the best single card sollution on sale right now, and not much more power hungry than your one 2900 is atm even tho the x2 has twice as much hardware onboard.
edit
looked at your specs<<<
if you want to get more out of that card sell you mobo and cpu and get a core2duo and overclock the nuts off it e8500 and an x38 mobo will do xfire and oc like beasts
