Good surround sound headset

I need some help I really want to stay with surround sound for my headsets my particulars being I dont want them to be USB I want them to be 3.5 and I would not like them to be simulated. They also cannot be wireless. With that said I have been through the razor barracudas and the normal roccat kave. My headsets get used everyday and while I do take care of them I do wear them out. I want decent audio but im not a $300 pair audiophile. Can anyone recommend me a set and why?

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list.

I appreciate it I was more looking to see if anyone knows something that can fit my bill in that budget. Trust me I know all about the $300 range and even considered audio technica m50x with a condenser mic

$300 can get you some pretty darn decent cans, for sure. IF you'd deal with emulation for surround, there's PLENTY of decent sets; just pick your favorite brand. The popularity of smart phones as portable music devices that need a mic has, in my opinion, changed the game a fair bit recently.

Sony MDR-XB300 I won them at lottery and if they break that's the one I would buy again even if considered old model. Big spongy earpads that make you feel like vintage but with high sound quality and xtra bass. 4.4/5 on amazon. read the reviews by yourself.

I've been using this CM Storm Sirius S 5.1-channel gaming headset for a few years now. I wish they had a little more bass but other than that, they are awesome. They're not good for music though.

I bought them cause they got great reviews.
