Hello all, bit of a weird one here.
My GPU (2080TI) has been having one fan go berserk at seemingly random times, climbing from my set 2400 rpm to around 3350 rpm for no reason. So I installed HWMonitor to confirm this and GPU Tweak 3 to adjust fan speeds.
My GPU has two fans that show up as fan #0 and fan #1 in HWMonitor. When I pull them up in GPU Tweak 3, they show as Fan #1 and #2. I figured that this was just a difference in layouts of the programs, but when I set the speed for both fans in tweak, only the fan listed as #1 in HW and #1 in tweak responds to the controlled speed, while the one designated #0 in HW runs off at high speeds still.
Only adjusting #2 in tweak proved my guess, that the #0 fan is not recognized properly by tweak, correct. This post seems all over the place, I know, but I've never encountered this and am doing my best to explain it properly.
So I guess my questions are; What could be causing the naming of the fans to be off like that when both programs use mobo for the info, and why my fans are spinning up while gpu isn't even above 60C?
Thank you and I will provide more info if needed!
