I use my PC for
Photoshop, Lightroom, Hashcat, Blender, Gaming
(It this order)

I need to replace my GPU. Currently, it is GTX780

I can buy

3080 Asus Strix gaing OC 10GB V2 for 1231.61 USD
3080 MSI Gaming Z Trio 12GB for 1298.89 USD
XFX 6900XT 319 Merc Black for 1416.23 USD

(tax is included)

I like the price of asus but MSI 2GB extra looks good. I'm not sure about build quality and quality control of MSI.

6900XT is a beast but in blender any 3080 will be better, probably.

I'm not sure, but I believe that GPU in Photoshop isn't very important.
And there is hashcat. On hascat forum 6900XT has slightly better results than 3080, but both are good enough to me.
I would like to try ray tracing, but I could probably live without it :)

Could you give me any advice about those cards?

I would go with one of the 3080 models, and if you're going to be doing any kind of lengthy renders that involve iray, I would suggest getting one that has a similar cooling solution like EVGA's Kingpin RTX 3090 and not to use any kind of overclocking on it, factory or otherwise. If you're not going to be doing any long 6-12 hr renders, then pretty much any 3080 series will be fine, but I can't say much in regards to quality difference between the different brands.
Rendering is a lot more taxing on a GPU than playing games when comparing say 4-6 hrs of nonstop rendering vs. 4-6 hrs of nonstop gaming.

I'd go for the MSI 3080. Superb build quality and so quiet too. Check out reviews of all those cards on TPU.

I'm sorry I don't know. Try Googling for more reviews, maybe.

For the small increase in price I'd opt for MSI RTX 3080; it would be interesting to have that GTX 780 of yours for one of my boxes. :)

I'm statring to think so :)

Can any of you help me understand something?
I checked and it seems that new card (3080 GB) has higher power sonsumption than 3080 Ti version. I can't understand why.
I can understand that 12GB is more poerwfull than 10GB version but Ti os eve more powerfull and it draws less powers.

Bios

But nvidia wantet to do this? Wanted to achieve higher power consumption?

Could it be fixed in newer bios ?
It relates to the TDPs and binning.

It relates to the TDPs and binning.

So its power consumption is like it should be?

Is the 12gb version better binned 10gb version with more vram?
Or it is worse version of 3080 Ti?

And the most important question.
Shoud I even care?

From what I've seen, the 6900 XT generally performs worse than the 3080, but it can sometimes rival a 3090, it depends on the workload/app. Nvidia seem to have more optimisations and software support for this type of workload.

If you try e.g. "blender 3080 / 3090 / 6900 XT" on YouTube there are lots of benches, like this one:

and this one:

I thought it was notable that some of the tests failed with 8GB VRAM on the 3070, but I assume it mainly depends on the complexity of the scene. Production workloads might well justify the extra 2GB.

From the reviews I've see of the Gaming X models, they have excellent coolers, but I don't know this model: "Z".

In my country there are LOTS of offers on high-end cards right now and prices are falling very fast.

Explanation of the 3080 12GB (conclusions might not be relevant to you since it is gaming oriented):

The one important reason to choose amd over nvidia is better support in linux due to open source drivers.

Nvidia is getting better there and I'm a linux fan boy :)
But even with worse driver support nvidia is better than amd in blender

MSI's 12 GB 3080 is the best card out of the bunch for Windows, for Linux buy the 6900 XT. My experience with the 3090 in Linux has not been pleasant, but that will change soon as NVIDIA finally released the proprietary blob required for Nouveau to support Ampere.

I would personally buy the Gaming Z 3080 12G out of these.

Just buy a cheap RTX 3060 12GB at $399 sell it after 6 months at $299 and then buy a RTX 4080 16GB at $799 or something. In gaming 3060 is around 2.7X faster than GTX 780, and has 12GB vs 3GB, also more than double pixel fillrate, and more than enough bandwidth for the Ampere architecture so if you add the compression characteristics the effective bandwidth is a lot more than 780 also (Even a GTX 980 was a lot faster in your use case than a GTX 780 if you check the Quadro versions and extrapolate) .On the 3 that you mentioned MSI 3080 12GB is the best option imo.

That sounds like a plan but do you actually believe that 4080 will cost $799?
I wouldn't be surprised if the will charge $1799

One way or another thank for the help.

I'm monitoring prices in my country for some time. I seems that prices are frozen.

You are right, I was talking for what I thought would be the SRP for the cut down AD103 (336 Tensor Cores in full implementation) , probably we will have inflation again.
But even then, the top AD104 model (240 Tensor Cores in full implementation), RTX 4070Ti? , should be faster than 3090, probably matching 3090ti in QHD with $599 SRP, so with even 2X inflation you still ending with a better card in the end.
Of course it's a gamble I don't want to give you a bad advice, by the end of June we will probably have the launch of Intel's ARC desktop lineup, so depending on the pricing we will have some indications about upcoming Ada Lovelace and RDNA3 performance/price placement since Intel knows a lot more than the leakers and the logic thing is to take into consideration what the competition will have before announcing prices...
