can someone tell if it is normal that my GPU is running at 731 Mhz when idle?

I don't do NV cards so I have no advice other than be patient and wait for someone to answer...
 
Are you running more than one screen? SLI does this sometimes. It's not "normal" so to speak, but it will not hurt the card. Also, you can wait for us to help. Pay me 80k/year and I'll be on call 9 hours a day. Pay me a yearly $100k and I'll be on call 24/5. Pay me $260k/year and I'll be on call 24/7. Otherwise, chill. :P

its normal, its called gpu boost. it downclocks when idle.

you can force the clock u set it on to be on at all times in precision but it will draw insane alot of power if u leave pc on 24/7.

reason u got gpu boost is since so the card doesnt draw alot of power when not in use, less powerbills to pay
 
No, your cards should not be running those clock speeds at idle. Like Bubbleawesome mentioned, maybe it's something with SLI keeping the cards at those clock speeds. Try disabling SLI.

BTW, this is my single OC'ed GTX 780ti SC at idle-

Is not normal and it wasn't the gpu boost or Sli problems, just the 1gpu that run at higher clock speeds even when idle.

Btw I found what is causing this problem,

When I set my monitor at 144Hz refresh
rate The 1gpu Is at high speeds even when idle but when I set the monitor to lower refresh rate 120Hz/60hz the problem is solved...

Your clock speeds when idle are a bit higher than mine (135Mhz)

yeah im used to 950mhz base clock on my 780 classys, and 700 mhz on idle happens time to time but atm its down to 300mhz with latest driver

Yeah bit mine it's just die to the monitor refresh rate.

Now I have my monitor at 120Hz refresh rate and my cards are both 135Mhz while idle

i got same issue with newest driver with my 144hz. but i use my 60hz for gaming.

I had some issues too, I had to uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times the drivers before I got it to work properly.

It's normal that the gpu runs a bit at high clock speeds because with the monitor set it at 144Hz have more work to do...
