Hi first time posting but I am stumped by this issue

for an unrelated problem I had to check what type of RAM I had and so removed it to check.

since putting back where it was and make sure it slotted in correctly. powering up the PC, it boots correctly and continues running for i assume until I turn it off, but I noticed that my monitor was not turning one where as other devices E.g mouse and keyboards were working

I narrowed it down to my GPU powering down shortly after power up, I have looked online and have been told it’s either a PSU issue or an incorrect ram placement issue.

i have moved the RAM between all the slots it could go incase I misremembered but the GPU will still power down shortly after turn on

does anyone have any ideas?

If you can, disable hibernation (cmd with admin, powercfg.exe /hibernate off) - and see if it changes things.

Your psu or gpu might be failing, have you swapped vid ports or tried a different cable?

Fill out your system specs more completely please

i had that happened. it was that the water was not flowing (pump was off) when my computer shutdown.

a RAM issue does not shut the computer down, it tends not start up at all.

get in to the BIOS, wait ten minutes, if it does not poweroff, then it is a Windows issue. inside the bios, your computer is at its most stable. while there reset bios, with default settings, usually on the shutdown page (f10 most likely)

then get into the desktop…
