GPU takes a while to initialize

Hi all people! Got nostalgic when reading your posts =)

Yes it was, in my opinion, more difficult to get things to work when you had to set the jumpers correct for harddrives and CPU/FSB-speeds (and fun, when trying to overclock), as well as configure a network between PC:S with coax-cables and not forgetting to put the terminators at both ends of the network. There also was sometimes crazy uncompability with ISA / or PCI-cards, when configuring them in DOS - conflicting IRQ-adresses etc. etc. :D

My first computer was an Amiga. I saved salary to get an HDD to it, it was unbelievable cool technology to me that you could put a HDD in the expansion port and have crazy fast loading times for games and also not having to "Please insert disk 2", disk 3, disk 4 etc etc =D. To me the raytraced loading/meny-screen of the game Walker looked as realistic as reality itself. Of course that can be debated when looking back at the image today =).

I remember thinking that we would -never- get HDD:s with 1024 mb space, or CPU:s with 1 GHZ. When AMD released the 1 GHZ Athlon I was amazed!

I worked at a recycling center and tore apart some of those old huge IBM hard drives.

My first personal computer was AMD K6-3 350Mhz socket 7. Met a guy who showed me how to build and work on them and how to tweak windows 95 that was new at the time. I played with some of the hardware we we recycling that still worked.

Yup then came Super 7 and after that is when Intel Made Slot 1 to prevent AMD or Cyrix being Dropped in
