[WTB][US] GPU Upgrade

I could sell you my XFX R9 290 for $150 if you are interested. I have upgraded the cooling and it overclocks like a BEAST. (Stock heatsink on left) It is a bit power hungry though with the voltage turned up. I went from a 7950 to this card and it was a huge upgrade. I'm looking to upgrade to a RX 580 or Vega 56 now.

did the substrate surrounding the GPU diode come coated in TIM like that, or was that You?

Also, do the Aftermarket cooler/Shrouds come with mix 'n' match heatsinks like that, or did you make due with what you had? ive never installed one of those, and im curious, since i see some are copper "spiked" , and the others are aluminum "finned", or some other type of alloy.

Do you have the VRM/mostfet heatsink? i mean like these

I wonder what are the VRM temp on load?

Yes the thermal grease was probably me. I use non-conductive thermal grease so there is no problems. I have the left over heatsinks, I didn't realize I should have put them there. I had a hell of a time getting the main heatsink fan together. I had to grind off part of the mounting bracket lol. I mixed and matched the heatsinks. I put the copper ones on before I even bought the Arctic Cooler...That is in part why I had to MacGyver it on the card. It cools very well now though and it is quiet!

As for temps, I have been running it flat out at 1100mhz core/1375mem with a 50~mv bump in Afterburner. The VRM temps barely get into the upper 60C range...70C if I add more voltage/core speed. They are rated for 95C so...yeah lol. Core temp never exceeds 65C..

so you would say those coolers are good? who makes it? Arctic cooling, right?

Yes. I have used their coolers on various cards for years. They are very nice. The newer ones don't come with the small heatsinks though...just a backplate like for a liquid cooled setup..

I have a BIOS modded GTX 980 that runs well that I can sell you. Let me know if you would like it.

@PontiacGTX where you looking to sell that 7870 when you get the new card?

EDIT:
I'm going to wait until Vega or RX 580s come down in price..

they will only come down in price after the new generation of cards come out. they are actually expected to go up in price again here soon. plus if the newer gen cards dont mine significantly better (5-10mh/s) then the previous generation i dont see them coming down in price a whole lot.

Not with the mining craze...

I have an EVGA 1060 6GB. Let me know if you are interested.
