Exactly thisRenoir and Cezanne APUs do not have PCIe 4.0. They have x20 PCIe 3.0 lanes only. Any "4.0" support is erroneous and probably comes from the fact that your B550/X570 board supports 4.0 when paired with a Matisse/Vermeer CPU. I think certain software also show 4.0 support on my 5700G/B550I Aorus AX but it's an error, especially as I use Vega 8 only.
The 4000/5000 APUs do have a full x16 3.0 slot for GPUs unlike their mobile versions or 2000/3000 APUs, but that's about it.
As to the ROPs, Vega iGPUs have never had more than 8. Wikipedia is wrong. The lack of ROPs is what actually really hobbles Vega 8 - pure memory freq and GPU core OC can improve a lot of performance, but in some games shadows need to be on lowest quality or off entirely because they will tank performance in lighting heavy scenes.
