When I move GPU-Z or CPU-Z window I get this very apparent lag, like its rubberbanding. I googled and came across this:

This is exactly my issue! And by searching the replies I found a fix, when using 1k polling rate on my mouse the issue doesnt happen but if I use 2k or 8k the problem appears.

Is this a me issue? Can other people replicate this? Happens on both cpu z and gpu z, both its worse on cpu z.

This issue with polling rate is only apparent on these two apps, no problems on any other software or game.

Any ideas?

Intel Power Gadget has done this for me for years on many different computers (and mice). It's long been so familiar that it's simply what IPG does, like it would be weird if it didn't. I don't remember if GPU-Z does this as I'm not sure I'd even notice but I'll pay attention and see if lower polling rate fixes it.

Couldn't repro in a quick test, but I only have a standard wired mouse.

System in your specs, right? Anything demanding running in the background?

With my 1k standard mouse I also dont have any problems, but with 2k, 4k or 8k polling the issue becomes very apparent.

My system is pretty clear of bloat, this happens even with all other software turned off.

I had that problem with some other software, I think TeamViewer window exhibited that behavior. I don't think it's a GPUz/CPUz problem, just Windows/driver problem as pointed out in that linked thread.
GPUz window works normally here.

gpu z issue is very minor compared to cpu z, its still there but much less.

I also remember that I had this on CPU Z on my old system (b450 + 5600x).

Puzzling.

The polling consumes CPU kernel cycles, if you dont have enough power to overcome it, then will get the effect.

Power? What kind of power?

are you on the latest (mouse) firmware available on site?

To my knowledge yes, I own a deathadder v3 8k and sabre pro 8k and both display the same behaviour.

I dont see any other issues on my system duo polling rate, I play games that are far more demanding that cpu z and have no issues.
I actually measured my 0.1% lows when I first got 8k mice, performance is exactly the same as 1k.
Seems to me that both cpu z and gpu z dont play nice with higher polling rate for whatever reason.

This problem involves monitor refresh rate too.
It looks like some kind of animation is tied to both rates.

This probably true, the effect seems worse on my 240hz display.

On my 165hz is better but not by much.

This has been bothering me so I went ahead and did a clean windows install (long overdue anyway).
Did all the updates and reverted bios to default (just to be sure), cpu z displays this "bug" on both my monitors with polling rates above 1k.
1k still have issues but its much less apparent, i dusted off an old mouse with 500hz polling rate and the problem is gone completely.

I'm guessing the software doesnt like higher polling rate or a mix of high polling rate and high refresh rate.
It can also be a combinaton of AMD+Nvidia hardware that causes the issue, I really dont know.

This is not really a big issue since I'm not dragging the windows all the time and it doesnt impact the software stability at all but I figure it's good to have this info out there for people with the same issue.

I have a 4k polling rate and a 240hz monitor and I don’t have this issue at all

It could be something about AMD + Nvidia combo then?
I've had this issue on my 5600x + 1660 super build but never bothered to fix it because its not a big deal.

Any ideas to fix?

Try a different USB port (with a different controller)

Sadly I already tried that. Happens on both chipset controller and cpu controller. With 2 difference mice and 2 different monitors.
My past 5600x + 1660S system also displayed the same issue.

In my experience, reducing polling rate or raising refresh rate solves the problem.
For those who are not having problems, you can reduce the refresh rate to 120-60Hz, you should notice the problem and a change in the extent of the problem.

I wonder, do you guys mean to say that usual/other Windows programs do not get the issue?

For example, you said both CPU-Z, as well as GPU-Z are affected.

But what about other system or non-system stuff, such as AIDA64, Speccy, Core Temp, MS Word/Excel/Outlook (in their 2019 or 2021 or 365/etc version), Notepad, Notepad++, Spotify, Viber, Skype, FB Messenger, Dropbox, MS OneDrive, Google Drive and so on? :)

What about antivirus programs window, such as window of Kaspersky, Avira, AVG, NOD/ESET32/etc?

Still nothing works fine. Work on my AMD system and my laptop as well.

Fits in the category first world problems imo....

Ubuntu or Win?
I have never encountered such a problem with Ubuntu, but it appeared with the win10/1kHz/60Hz combination.
Windows

Only those two apps shows these problems for me personally.
Can't remember any other software displaying the same behavior.

Okay then, thanks for the reply. :)
