Hi there,

I was hoping someone here could shed some light on this horrible graphical error thats invaded my machine recently. Sometimes I get this gumf on screen right from when I startup(a quick jump to standby mode then powering up again usually clears it a bit but not totally)

Videos and games get totally messed up by it. I was originally running the latest ATI omega drivers but since have reverted to catalyst to see if this changed anything (it didn't) so i'm getting a bad feeling the cards on its way out.. :(

Any help would be appreciated! i've included a couple of images below.

Further info:
1gb ddr ram
amd 64 3200 processor
asus k8v-se motherboard

My current one does this when opening MSN's main window, but I've got transparency turned on, using a MSN Live Plus or sumat, so I've accounted it as just a simple transparency quirk

The two most common problems that could be causing this, IMO, are either a power supply failing, or the video card failing.

Hi all, thanks for the speedy replies!

I've checked the fan on the card, which is still working fine, so i'm hoping it's my PSU as i don't want to fork out for another graphics card! I had this error appear during the bios this morning so its certainly some kind of hardware prob. Again cheers for the advice!

Chances are your 9800PRO is dying. If you used it a lot, and used a stock cooler in addition, then definaterly... it should fail around now.
