Has anyone heard of this game? I haven't heard anything about it until now. The recommended specs are pretty light.

I’ve been following a bit, but ultimately it doesn’t seem like my piece of cake.

I was looking at this game for a bit now since I heard about it earlier this year. It looks pretty darn good. And I am looking forward to it. But will wait till reviews are out of course.

Well, I guess I'm in the dark on this one then. Thanks guys for the info.

Spiders games tend not to be polished from their game reviews

Yeah, @dirtyferret that’s a good call. I’ve played Of Orcs and Men, Mars: War Logs, and Technomancer. Of those, the only one I finished was Mars:War Logs. Of Orcs and Men is a good prelude to the Styx series.

However...all are semi-frustrating in the controls department, and a bit finicky/unpolished, as you say. I enjoyed Mars the most, but with the controls I never felt relaxed playing. The “getting killed quickly and frequently” factor in the other two due to controls not being intuitive when things get hairy is frustrating.

I would be surprised if they strayed very far from their formula of unnecessary difficulty.

when is this being released?

Edit: September 10th

Looks really good to be honest. I like these types of unpolished Risen-like RPGs.

I'll check it out for use in VGA benchmarks. Can feedback here, remind me in a few days :)

When you get it I would love to hear your impression of it.

Sorry my friend but I don't play play recent games. I'm backlogged about 3 years right now.

Well, I play games when I have time for it.

I thought about getting it until seeing the combat...now not so sure.

Styx...oooo.... definitely not sure now.

I hope this one turns out good. Maybe at the very least have the quality of Gothic or Elex.

I'v heard about this game for a while now, its spiders most ambitious project and its getting some serious hype from RPG gamers, the overall feedback from gamers have been positive. Spiders have said they are intending this game to be a "good old dragon age fix" for RPG fans, so if you like role paying games then keep this game on you'r radar

When you get it I would love to hear your impression of it.
Or watch reviews such as ACG :)

I see the game as releasing today but the Steam page still says Preorder and no published reviews are out yet. Can't say I am thrilled with the game play vids out there though.

Been patiently waiting for nearly a year so I suppose a few more hours won't hurt.

Said to hell with it and decided to just buy it and installing it now.

At the time of my posting ign is giving a pre-final review score of 8.0 with having spent 35hrs in.....It looks like one to get at some point or another. It looks as if Publisher Focus Home Interactive which brought us A Plague Tale is giving the developers enough time and encouragement to make quality games.

Looking forward to the verdict!

Well, so far it certainly has potential. My puppy is being super annoying by demanding my attention with her bark so I can't really say too much about it as I only have about 30 minutes into it and just passed the tutorial.

Combat is ok, the animations aren't as polished as say TW3 or AC:Odyssey. Movement animations are sort of clunky as well. The graphics seem normal if not slightly behind what I would expect for late 2019. That said, I have to run on med-high to get about 55-65fps on my Vega 56.

Everyone compares it to Dragon Age: Inquisition but I have not played that to validate that claim.

At this point, the only thing I can say is that I think it will be worth the buy after everything plays out.

This sounds about on par with other Spiders games. Not saying that’s a bad thing necessarily, just that they are consistent.

I may actually overlook the period armor I don’t like and possibly give this a try, especially since I keep going back and purchase their games. It sounds fairly fun from what I’ve seen and read so far.

Normally they are pretty good about giving studios enough time. I use the Styx games, The Council, Vampyr and Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishments as the standard for what quality Focus can put out.

I skipped Vampyr but wanted to play it at the time.

Looks like a spaniadized Skyrim rip off so it's a pass from me
