Greedfall

I'll probably be playing this one next after Rage 2. I was going to play Borderlands 3 but i need to give my swollen hands a break. Plus, i've got a steam card just lying here doing nothing.

Game reminds me of Gothic, Skyrim, Dragon Age. Solid gameplay, graphics are ok, working on performance article right now

Gothic was so much fun.

FYI, w1zzard also posted his graphics review

orc and men, i play that, not a bad gameplay&story :)

Watched the starting hour on youtube for my impressions.. yeah I'd describe it as a Gohic meets Bioware atmosphere wise. Bit.. too heavy on dialogue exposition early on tho, not a fan of the tell don't show approach to new worlds and lore.

It’s a Spiders game. All their stuff is very wordy and dialogue driven.

Medieval swords and sorcery RPG are my favorite genre, but unfortunately, like most titles, it is tied to Steam, so until it comes to GOG, I will not be playing it.

It probably won’t. I don’t know any Spiders games that have gone to GOG, and only A handful from publisher Focus Home Interactive.

Edit: I must correct my mistake. Bound by Flame and Pinball World are the two Spiders games on GOG. So it could happen.

SO, on the premise that reviews have pronounced this an improved Spiders game, I purchased. I really don't see the DA comparisons. To me, it is a continuation of their Technomancer and Mars: War Logs games, and a little bit of TW3 thrown in. It is decidely a Spiders game. Obscure controls that are not combat friendly? Check. Unintuitive controls for just about anything else? Check. Death in first actual combat at 30 minute mark? Check.

Still, it DOES feel like an improved Spiders game. There is a strong emphasis on storytelling and dialogue, and I will definitely look forward to playing this exclusively once I finish Control.

I had to quit Rage 2 because of my hands.:( I don't know why i'm putting the death grip on the controller in this game and not others. I'm playing Greedfall now and my hands are already getting better. Highly customizable armor....Stuck a feather in his hat and called it macaroni. :)

Well, seems reviews are good. Will pick it up as soon as it becomes cheap lol.

Are those (storytelling and dialouge) good? And is there crafting and resource management? Because honestly it sounds like a decent game, but the writing would have to be pretty stellar for me to actually get it. Oh, and is it difficult? Are there survival elements to it?

And BTW that name is just terrible for a big game IMO.

playing a FPS with a controller??? ; ; you hurt my existence

I've been using a controller since the late 70s. Arthritis runs in the family on both sides and a keyboard is worse for pain than a controller.

Greedfall is missing something...where's the show stopping quest bugs at?

If you stare into the abyss long enough the abyss stares back at you. :)

Anyone else using a stasis build? looks like a must for just about any character. So far the story is great. The side quests are very interesting.

I'm liking it so far, just got to the island had a look around the city. Mostly want to wait for a patch tho before reaaally continuing. Seems there's a memory leak that degrades performance + ive seen some mention of unfinishable quests in some scenarios.

I just ran into my first quest bug. Without giving away any spoilers, if you encounter a quest bug indoors go outside then go back in and should've resolved itself. Other than that at lvl 32 no crashes, glitches, etc, etc...really good game with a thought and emotionally driven story.

Did you find the bookstore chest before leaving? It was definitely tucked away.

Only gripe so far is the rehashed interior designs in the castles, taverns and such. Otherwise, its a good game.

The bug i ran into was that i already had the parts but it gave no marker to place them. So i went outside then back inside and the markers were there.

Anyhow that was the only bug in whole game that i noticed because i'm finished and it's pretty easy to get two of the endings. I know of two others and probably more variations. I left only one side quest undone that i know of. It was a search every nook and cranny kind of quest. All in all, it was a real good game imho.

Now proceeding to Borderlands 3.
