I want to buy Grim Dawn Definitive Edition, but i dont't know how to buy it,through Steam platform or GOG client platform. My only question is: If i make a host game, where there are more players on Steam or through GOG client?
On the steamcharts statistic, this game Grim Dawn have an average between 3022-4500 players.
On GOG client how many players are on this game Grim Dawn?I ask this, because i don't know what to do,to buy for Steam or for GOG client....and for GoG there are no statisc players like on steam.

thx in advance

It doesn't matter, buy where you can find it cheaper. The game has full crossplay between GoG and Steam, so the list of games and the playerbase is the same between the two.

Depends if the games are hosted on Steam or on the game's servers. If it's on their own server, it doesn't matter in which store you bought the game. I'd also like to suggest people to buy from GOG if they can, all of their games are DRM free, as it's one of their terms for publishers. On GOG you actually buy games, as they're served with an offline installer without any kind of activation.

My big question is if multi player really adds that much to Grim Dawn. There's no PvP, only co-op.

Even Co-op is fine for Grim Dawn. This Game can be brutal.

Co-op is the crown feature of this hidden gem IMO, otherwise I wouldn't even know it exists.

On Steam is 55 $,on GOG is 30 $.WHy on steam the price is doubled?

Never heard of "Sales"? ;) Price isn't always the same, put the game on the wishlist & buy when the price is down. The Steam Spring Sale might be a good time (~$25 for the "Definitive Edition"). On GOG it's around the same price in sales. Pretty steep for a 8 year old game with 5-7 year old DLC. One of those companies who aren't doing big discounts, no matter what. Like some Japanese companies, too. Or DayZ.

Played it co-op with my brother a few times and things can get really hectic when you drop in a second person and even more so with 3 or 4. We just kind of dabble in it here and there when we want a break from everything else we've been playing. We'd probably put more time into it, but there are so many games we have for coop that finding time for all of them is the hardest part for us.

Right now we're bouncing between BG3, Helldivers 2, Aliens: Fireteam Elite and we're kind of eyeballing V Rising or Generation Zero. Grim Dawn and even No Man's Sky takes a seat on the backburner for when we need a change of scenery every now and then.

I originally got the game on Steam because that's where it started on when it was still in Alpha/Beta stage. I've thought about picking it up on GoG, but I haven't....years ago GoG used to work with developers and allow you to claim the game through GoG if you had a copy of it on Steam. I did that with a handful of games that GoG made it available to be done with. It wasn't just linking a game from Steam to GoG, it was actually getting a free copy of a game through GoG that you already paid for on Steam.

I see -70% on GOG right now :p
7.19

Steam
24.99

I'd even suggest the Definitive Edition on GoG. Get all the expansions (Ashes of Malmouth is great, Forgotten Gods is pretty good, plus you get the Crucible which is fun and a quick way to build up levels if you're testing out builds). It's only $30.38 on GoG for the next 1 day and 17 hours.
