I went away for a few minutes , came back and found out my system froze up in the pause menu of GTA V....
My wireless controller was also disconnected. Never had this before.
I had to do a hard reset.

I was just thinking back in my mind, yesterday my dad accidentally unplugged my whole system, he thought it was the plug from the fan he wanted to take and use... Soo yesterday my system did not properly shutdown and was cut off power...

Would it have anything to do with that what happened yesterday.

Could have been there any damage from this?

Highly unlikely any "damage" occurred. But file corruption is always a possibility with a sudden loss of power and the system cannot shutdown "gracefully". What I would do is boot it up, then do a "graceful" reboot to make sure everything has been reset properly.

Ok, just did a proper reboot, didn't do that yesterday (just started it back up), hopefully my system won't freeze up again in the GTA V pause menu.

Edit: @Bill_Bright , did some checking:

And GTA V in Steam:

Do you think this "freeze up" from today had to do with the sudden powerloss yesterday and that I didn't do a proper reboot yet after that?

Could be, how are the temps and voltages during gaming.

I'd try a stock factory setting (no OC) to see if that changes anything)

I agree, it is possible but it is impossible to know for sure at this point.

I just know booting after a sudden power loss does not always set/reset everything back to normal - hence the need for a proper "graceful" shutdown and reboot.

I do not really OC since I've got a locked CPU.
When I restarted my system after the hard reset I did get a screen with OC failed or something,
I needed to go in the BIOS, the memory clocked down to 2133 but the settings were still correct, I just saved it and exited the BIOS and booted up fine after that and the ram was running at 3000MHz again.

I did use this:

But I didn't OC the clocks.

Run it stock for a bit, if it locks, could be gpu, psu at that point.

The game plays fine with these settings, remember, it froze up when I paused the game so the GPU was probably not even at boost clocks at that time.

I hope it just was from the sudden power loss as Bill said.
I did a proper reboot just today and checked my file system, all seems ok.

That's the issue with power saving functions. I miss the days where cards ran at the preset clocks and that was it.

I think one freeze is nary a concern... when its a problem, I'd worry about it (then post). :)

Ok, well it really surprised me and was thinking of that sudden power loss from yesterday.
SInce I never had a system freeze before with this system.

Hope it won't happen again.:)

gta v is just one of those things that sometimes does weird shit ....

if you where in gta:eek:nline a hacker might have decided to crash your client (yes this is still very much a thing)
