His point, and one I agree with, is that the graphics and technology hasn't really advanced in GTA5 because they targeted 6 year old hardware (PS3 and Xbox 360). GTA4 on PC can more or less match GTA5 on consoles. GTA5 on PC might be something to gawk at though.

FYI, Lazlow said there's over 100 hours of gameplay in GTA5. That's way beyond even GTASA.

Well yes the graphics aren't nearly as good as depicted in the trailers. But this is the real deal game.

I know a couple folks who got the game early (for reviewing) and they're saying that the game is a bit too ambitious for the old consoles to handle. Muddy graphics (textures, upscaled to 720p) and at times low frame rates. I believe this is on the Xbox 360.

I have a feeling we'll see it for the PC and PS4 possibly before Christmas or early next year.

Because when they started making it (just after launch of GTA4), Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were little more than ideas floating around Microsoft and Sony.

Yes, I resent Rockstar for putting Windows gamers last. That always annoyed the <explicit> out of me.

No way. Rockstar has always put about a year between console and Windows releases (if ever in the case of Red Dead). I have no clue if Rockstar has any intention to port the game to PS4/XB1. If they do, there isn't going to be a lot of noise about it.

Take this with a grain of salt, obviously:

It's not just the graphics that are samey, they even brought back Packie McReary. WTF, he suddenly left his family and moved from Liberty to Los Santos?

As far as graphic quality goes though, keep in mind the settings like texture detail are fixed at only 10 on current gen consoles. Los Santos and Liberty City are HUGE maps for them to handle. It also looks like that soft blurring you can turn off in the PC version, is on.

I don't know, the map design from what I've seen in other videos looks good, and there appears to be some cool new stuff to do, but I couldn't help but be annoyed by some things.

They always have an affinity for making some characters sound gay, the steering looks like very twitchy center pivot type, and some of the dialog is BS, like a programmer not even knowing how to close pop-ups and run an AV prog.

Maybe I'm just outgrowing GTA, it's always written a bit immature, but lately it just looks and feels boring and nonsensical too.

Yeah, that doesn't say/mean much. Of course they build games on specific PC configurations for testing purposes but that doesn't mean there's any intention to fully support PC (AMD, NVIDIA, keyboard, mouse, etc.).

That said, Rockstar would be stupid not to launch on Windows. PS4/XB1 is 50/50. I think they will eventually but I have no idea when.

Why wait? They can release it now, then port it to the next gen and make money twice.

What else can they do with GTA that's not already been done? drive around, do missions etc etc. Personally I always found GTA a little boring, but each to their own i guess.

I tink they released it on console first so they will make lots of cah out of the consoleites who will all buy it for more of the same, with maybe tweaked graphics. New map same game imo.

While GTA is nowhere NEAR that over the top in general yet, the lines between the two at times are extremely blurred.

Btw i looked up the websites where people have been getting illegal copies of gta v.
The amount of people downloading is hardly 3k. which seem a poor number for gta v.
i thought they would be atleast 50k.

GTA5 looks hella better than GTA4. I can't stomach playing GTA IV on the xbox 360 or PS3 (I own it for the ps3 and PC) GTA V looks WAAAAY better in game.

Try playing GTAVC or GTA3. GTASA came along ways from them and GTA4 was a huge leap from GTASA. Technology marches forward.
