ts more like RE-Posting because i got no answers in the previous one.
I have GTX 260 216 core SC this is the full model name " EVGA 896-P3-1267-AR GeForce GTX260 Core 216 SC Edition 896MB DDR3 PCI-Express 2.0 ".
my problem was that my video card blackout when it is on stress approx. 5mins and i havnt over clocked it or anything and it used to be fine before, been using it for 5 months but in the last two months i havnt been able to play any games tryin to figure out why does it black out i have changed my power supply with another one and still the same problem so with latest drivers and reinstalling OS except for Windows 7 RC1 build 7100 it was running smoothly but windows 7 has some conflicts with my work programs so i cant use it either.
but when i bought it the first time i changed fan speed in Bios config so it would run on 63% IDLE, so i was told that might be problem that when i did that i might changed something that caused this problem.
so could anyone please lead me to download bios source even if theres any updates it might help and how do i flash it.

also i checked forums for flashing Bios i followed everything and when i type flashing command instead of confirmation message i get this error " Unable to map device address space" .

I've posted the same post on evga Fourms there were many hits on the my post but no answers, and i was told to contact Support and when i did all they told me was they directed my request to someone else so i ship it back to United States which will cost me almost Card Price..

Please HELP me!!

Sorry for the Long post.

Thanks in Advance..

If it worked with the bios you have now...then a newer bios is not likely going to fix this.

Sounds like classic overheating....core or memory.

Have you cleaned the video cards fan and heatsink fins yet?....get some compressed air and blow out the built up dirt.....you'd be surprised as to how alittle thin layer of dirt can shoot your temps through the roof and crash your card fast as well.....if you haven't blown it out in the 5 months of owning it....I guarantee you that's the issue.

Hope it helps. :)

i always keep the card clean from the dust like every week and the temp isnt the problem i think..
about the bios.. why do i wanna replace it because i think last time when i did editing i might ruined something which i think it was voltage or something .. so i have a feeling if i replace it with new one like one of those i downloaded from here would work fine i just hope so if you familiar with this error i get while flashing " unable to map device address space" that would be helpful if you tell me what to do to replace it another one.. btw my card is SC so i was thinking if i replace it with higher clocked specs.

The 9600gt series had a black screen issue pop up it's ugly head.....alot of peeps had luck downclocking their memory to get rid of the black screens....may be the same issue your dealing with your GTX260......sucks I know to have to run under stock speeds.....but it's easier than RMA'ing for you it seems.

@ Mussels sorry for not reading this before posting and i've incl. my specs there, and thanks.
@Raptor it was running smoothly before there were nothing new except changing OS several times which i dont think it could be the problem.. so i was thinking about that bios thing so i make sure everything is okay when it is on its standard case.

just go into bios and you should see a command to reset bios to default...Or something like that and save and boot!!

i think Asylum is talking about your motherboard BIOS, while you're talking about video card BIOS.

my card temp in idle status is 45c after i edit speed to 63% and when i used Fur mark to stress the card i notice before it goes black-out the temp reachs 73 which is good for max stress for the card i guess..
also about PSU i never heared of it first when i bought it but it was the best i could get then and when i went to seller i told him it was power supply problem and he replaced it to me with new one but from the same brand and when i asked if i could change it to HEC or whatever he said it wont be possible but if i make sure its the PSU i will get new one so i have to make sure.
about PSU specs i really dont know how to get it because im not that good to determine that yet or tell me what to do and i will get it for you.
Thanks

read the model number off the label, and try and find it on newegg or asus website. newegg works simply because they list all the products specs, and its sometimes easier to find on there than the manufacturers site.

posting links is fine. If you saw something about posting links being against the rules, it was probably related to piracy or illegal torrents.

That PSU has VERY weak 12V rails. 16A and 18A is very low. My last 600W PSU had FOUR 18A rails, and yours has less than half of that.

If your card tops out at 73c, it's your PSU. Post of screenshot of the temperatures using GPU-Z.

so you think it could be my power supply?
please i want to make sure about that before purchasing new one.
also about that problem i had with flashing the card thats the thing worrying me the most.. im afraid that i've done some serious damage to the card.

if the card was damaged so badly, dont you think it would show up faster? by say, not working at all?

This is most likely your PSU.

GTX 260 (regular version) uses approx 140W. since yours is an OC'd edition, that could be say... 160W? divide that by 12 (since its on the 12V rail) and you get 13.3A for the card. 13A of power draw off a 16/18A rail doesnt leave much for the rest of the PC, so its definately possible thats the problem.

corsair, OCZ, PC&C, thermaltake toughpower, antecs.

Look for a PSU with a single 12V rail if possible, with a minimum of 30A (they dont add up evenly, so if its a dual rail one, aim for 22A+ on each rail)
