what version of realtemp do you have?, make sure the TJ max is set to 100 celcius, the creator of it told me that's what he believes it should be at and this guy knows his stuff from experience and testing. Also, the q6600 is only rated by intel to a max of 71 celcius, if once you've made sure the TJ max in realtemp is set to 100 your over that i wouldn't push it any farther, if anything i'd throttle it back to 3ghz with a lower voltage to help longetivety of the chip. As for those programs that your unsure of, do you have a better way of telling the temperature of your cpu while in windows? no, so the logical thing to do is go off the best source available to you and that's realtemp.
