I have 2 480's that sit right on top of each other and heat is not an issue, it was way over fluffed on release and those who've never owned the card continue to blast it for the initial bad reviews.
my cards clock up to 900MHZ on the stock cooler so again no need for water, just ramp up the fan. And once again my cards are right on top of each other, ie the bottm card is blocking the top car's intake (they do take in air from the front of the card also so it's not an issue) but this should be worse case sceanrio and on stock right on top of each other. No issues, no overheating, and no issues overclocking.
so no, it's not that hot, it's not as power hungry as people think especially as it's the twin frozer II card, heat won't be an issue at all!
I'm sorry but you're just full of crap if you think a 570 is worth 80 euros more (ie ~120$ U.S. more) than a 480. Once again 35% more cost for 0% more performance. You might as well be flushing 80 euros down the toilet.
if this were between a 480 and a 580 at that price difference it would still be tough and lean in the 480's favor as the 580 is 12% faster than the 480 overall based on W1z's reviews and the price difference is 35%.
at that point though i could understand people recomending it just due to it being all a round a better card and you always pay a premium for the fastest gpu.
but that's not the case here. the 570 has no more performance that the 480, I mean even in W1z's reviews the difference maxes at 1% I'm sorry there is no logic in that choice, none whatsoever. It almost seems like some of you are getting all caught up in some damned naming number difference sure 570 is a higher number than 480 but so is freaking 520 :shadedshu
