GTX 690 in newer platforms

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. A while ago, I started trying to make my old GPUs work on newer platforms like AM4 and AM5. I had some difficulty with the Kepler cards. My GTX Titan and Tesla K80 only worked when I changed the PCIe gen from 4 to 2 on my X570 motherboard. However, my GTX 690 is only being detected as the PLX chip. I’ve tried various methods, including using it on my Asrock B450 and Asus X470 motherboards, but it’s the same issue. On the other hand, older cards like the GTX 590 and GTX 480 work perfectly.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Could my GTX 690 have died after sitting idle for a few years? There are no signs of oxidation or blown capacitors.

What is the reason to use a 690 anyway?

Do you need more of a reason @PumpTheKin? Sometimes we do things for the sake of doing the thing.

I have a GTX 690. Mine does not have an uefi compatible firmware (and I have not checked if one exists either). So I have not been able to make it work with more modern hardware. But honestly I have not tried very hard either. It works great with my 3. gen Intel platform.
