gtx 970 display port issues?

any one else having displayport issues with the gtx 970? im using the strix version and im trying to connect it to my acer xr341ck monitor. everytime i try to switch it won't detect it, it'll only detect the hdmi 2.0. is there an issue with this gpu or is it because my monitor features freesync with displayport.

No - working fine on displayport.

Did you download the latest firmware for the Strix from the Asus site?

Does it mention that this new firmware is for DisplayPort issues because telling someone to just flash their firmware is rather bad advice.

I've had some issues with my 980 and my ASUS VG248QE monitor's displayport, though it only seems to happen when I turn the monitor on sometimes, and it refuses to pick up a signal. If I turn the monitor off and on again, it works fine the next time.

yeah that's the one i updated my strix too and i still can't use the display port. this is an amd freesync monitor, does that have anything to do with it? i read on other places through out other forums that there are others having gtx 970 displayport issues.

Don't know for sure the main difference between what you are doing is the freesync. Are you using displayport or mini-displayport my BenQ only provided the mini version (of the cable) and so I went with that.
I do see new(ish) drivers dated July 23 on the Acer website for Windows 8 - not 10 which if you haven't tried might work.

I see that this monitor (according to tftcentral has one mini displayport in one displayport in as well as one displayport out for daisychaining. Just double check you didn't plug in to the "out"

ok i updated the display windows drivers from acer website. now i get my mouse appear when displayport but all i get is a blank background screen with the bottom windows panel. nothing else appears, no icons on my desktop even when i click an app it doesnt appear on main screen but on the windows tray it does. should i get a mini display port cord, everytime i try to change the daisychain setting in the menus from clone to extend it changes back.

I would want to try the mini displayport connection without a doubt but it may not fix your problem - so don't get your hopes up. Do you have it set up for the default resolution if not that could cause loss of view of your icons.

U have gtx970 and u bought XR341CK? Omg! This monitor will work only with AMD cards not Nvidia...for Nvidia U need XR341CKA with G-sync
